Reviewed By WeakKneeTravelerWill have to take a boat ride from La Rasoabe to reach this hotel. Once you arrived, you will be welcomed by sightings of a few different species of Lemurs as they roam around the hotel freely. Their favourite place is the dining area cos there's where the food is. But the staff will help to chase them away while you eat. The room is rustic but clean and comfortable. You will be awaken by the calls of Lemurs in the morning. It's really back to nature. Staff are friendly and service was excellent. There is a guided walk by staff at the hotel which has quite a big area of garden and trees and plants. You can see tortoises, chameleon and of course Lemurs here. This is really the highlight of the stay at this hotel.

Reviewed By 453KimD453I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my father. It was by far our favourite hotel during our trip in Madagascar. As with most hotels we stayed in it did not excel in luxury. However, it had wonderful views, really wonderful food, friendly and accommodating staff, a lovely swimming pool. The location (quiet) and outlook are particularly noteworthy and we had a bungalow that looked right out over the national park. We also particularly enjoyed eating mangoes that had fallen off the tree right next to the pool! The food was creative, tasty and good value, with much of it grown in the hotel garden including fresh herbs. Lovely bread too! Wifi at reception only.

Stay tainted by the rock hard pillows and bed
Reviewed By TipishcaUnfortunately my overriding memory of our stay at Chez Gaspard was of how uncomfortable the pillows and bed were. The bed was very hard and the pillows were square pieces of foam stuffed into a tiny pillow slip that was too small for the foam thus making them rock hard too! Locals also congregated in the parking area trying to sell various souvenirs and postcards - I don't blame them but it did make it awkward to politely ignore them each time we arrived/departed from the accommodation.

The restaurant, with the lagoon view, gives visitors a great time by a wide selection of seafood and other grilled specialties.

Simple but cozy, all our bungalows are constructed of wood and offer all the comfort for a pleasant and carefree vacation. Each bungalow has a queen -size and a single bed, electricity, a private bathroom with hot water, a terrace overlooking the sea and large storage space.

Reviewed By richarddxb2017This is a unique spot! After arriving with the boat crossing the incredible Mer d’Emeraude you’ll find an atmosphere of peace and relaxation. The chalets are comfortable (but be prepared for mosquitoes from the nearby mangroves – mosquito nets are provided), the staff is super friendly and “Chef” is a legend surprising each meal with the quality of the food. WoW. It’s a miracle how well this place is managed with the limitations being cut-off from the rest of the world. The main activity is kiting. The school next door offers lessons but the place is better suited for more advanced riders. Launching and landing can be intimidating at first, but the staff is extremely helpful. Yes, it’s a lagoon: but with 30-plus knots of wind, a chop quickly develops so don’t expect the water to be flat. But once you’re on the water it’s incredible. Big winds, uncrowded, crystal clear and unreal emerald water – we did spot several turtles whilst kiting. Join on their excursions: we made an unforgettable downwinder to La Piscine; the wind doesn’t disappoint, the color of the sea is incredible and, not to forget, Chef’s crab curry on the beach… Loved it!

An Incredible Place
Reviewed By X2816MUmikebI seldom leave a review but Hotel Lavasoa was such a special place to stay. The views are as amazing as they get and everything about the place is comfortable. The location is perfect. Perhaps more importantly, the staff made everything unforgettable. They truly go out of their way to not only make your stay unforgettable, but they also make you feel so welcome. They are really genuine and can help you with anything you need. Ft. Dauphin is so amazing, and I know exactly where I will be staying the next time I come! Thank you for everything, Marco.
