Great place to stay
Reviewed By thieta564012Very good location, everything is nearby. Helpful staffs, breakfast selection is very good and tasty. Only downside is that hotel room is very small. There is restaurant inside of the hotel, they serve very tasty and pictures presentation food.

Good value for money
Reviewed By liverpool1023Despite the middling reviews, I thought this hotel offered very good value for money. The room was spacious with a large TV, kettle and coffee, phone etc. The ancient beds proved to be comfortable and the hotel was quiet. Overall sleep quality was good. The downsides were that the fixtures and fittings are tired (although everything is clean and tidy) and the breakfast is a bit basic. Overall you can’t quibble over the price.

Reviewed By carol1151A nice clean but basic hotel. Room was spacious and a small kitchen was most convenient. Hotel provided milk, kettle etc. so could make own tea/coffee in the room. Breakfast was very good range of things to eat but all cold - would have been nice to see a hot option. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Cheap hotel in the center of the city
Reviewed By lindhtoThis is a very modest hotel in the center of Mariehamn. Location is key. The breakfast was good and served in a windowless basement room. The hotel room was worn but nice and big with a balcony. Good for working. Affordable pricing. The minibar was empty but kept my own drinks nice and cold.

Good hotel, even though slightly past its best-before-date
Reviewed By Lennart SMy wife and I stayed two nights at a superior room with own balcony overlooking the sea. It was a real treat to be able to sit outdoors on the balcony with a post-dinner glass of win, as the weather was exceptionally pleasant for the season. The room was generally fully adequate, but three (!) of the lamps in the room were not functioning. Breakfast was excellent, with smoked salmon as a bit of an extra, but the bread toast was next to useless. Kudos for the gin bar which was stocked with a broad assortment of gins and tonic waters, also well staffed. So, our overall impression was relatively positive, but we found attention to detail somewhat lacking. More fundamentally, the property seems to have been built (in the 70s?) with an overoptimistic idea of grand international hotel. leaving the place slightly faded today and with several redundant-looking spaces. Also, a bit overpriced in relation to what you get.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast. We also liked the morning sauna and indoor swimming pool. Would recommend.

Not fancy but nice

The place wasn't that full, luckily, and it is near the ferry terminal (I could see the ferries from my window and part of the sea) and about a 10-15 minute walk to the town centre. Obviously it is not a fancy place and the bathrooms, including showers, are shared (very common in Scandinavia) but the room I had was nice. It was on the top floor, quite a big room with 3 beds, and away from anyone else so it was always quiet and had a nice view over the roof. Th only thing is, it was very hot because of its location on the roof so you needed a fan (the room had 3)but other than that, no issues and staff was friendly.

Bathrooms are crowded
Reviewed By sc11884Stayed one night. There is free parking nearby but you can also park the car near to your cabin (I preferred not to, too many people going by). The cabins are big and very, very clean. The cleanest I have seen so far. There is also a small kitchen. My cabin was number 18, at the very end meaning it would take me a long walk to reach the bathroom very time. The view was nice, with the forest and the sea nearby. Very peaceful. The downside was the crowds. It was full of people, caravans and camping tents. The number of toilets and shower is not enough to accommodate all those people. The bathrooms get really crowded, with people waiting there or just coming in and out every second. Looking at that made me wonder what the point of months long border closure really was if you let people crowd in small bathrooms like that? I don't care but it is pointless in my view. Also, it is not really fair to people who paid for cabins. I paid over 100 EUR for the cabin for one night and I have to share the bathroom with caravan and tents people who paid less than half of what I paid, and had to wait for them to use the toilet. I think those people should have their own shared bathroom.
