Great Park

Reviewed By jagbirch

Great park.. lot of work being done adding units.. I would suggest better larger signage be installed on the main entry road “One Way “ many people miss the small signs and exit the wrong way.. and during winter some form of wind break blinds in the camp kitchen would be nice.. very good camp kitchen otherwise.. overall an excellent park.. would recommend..

Beds was comfortable. Quiet n peaceful stay. I am a artist and there was a area where I could do some of my paintings also. Friendly helpful staff and Management. Nice caravan park but dated chalets

Reviewed By limeclaw

The chalets were dated, but large and roomy. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed, good bedside tables and reading light, plenty of storage space and a good working air conditioner. The bathrooms were very dated, but clean and functional, but some area’s needed maintenance. Good lighting, a nice quality hair drier and good supply of towels. The kitchenette has a large fridge, stove top with rangehood, pots & pans. Toaster & kettle, microwave and a limited supply of crockery & cutlery. The lounge area had a nice two seater and nice large television and a separate air conditioner that worked really well. The outdoor area, table and two chairs and own BBQ and parking was right outside the chalet which was very convenient. The chalets were good for a short stay, however needs some maintenance. The shower head and the basin tap continually dripped, it did not matter how tight you shut the taps they water just continually dripped. The bathroom door did not shut properly and you continually had to force the door shut. There was an uneven tile in the bathroom floor that jutted out and you continually scraped your foot on it as it was right in the door way making it a trip Hazzard. The dining table had chip marks and gouges in the table top, it is quite polarising when you first look at the table and quite off putting, and surely that could be patched up some how so that it does not look so awful. My only other gripe is the scant availability of crockery and cutlery – only the bare minimum was provided, one plate, one cup, one glass per person. What is you needed another plate to serve food on? Or invite a guest over for a meal? And continually washing your one mug or one glass is actually quite annoying and the only place where I have experienced a one place setting per person in a chalet? The park itself was well located. Two beautiful pools, plenty of laundry rooms with good quality washing machines and driers, iron & ironing board. Great communal facilities that were very clean, the park was well set out for campers and caravaners and plenty of BBQ’s and loads of on site parking. Overall, it is a very nice park, just the chalets need a little TLC. The staff we encountered were very nice and accommodating.

Nice Caravan Park

Reviewed By Carolind

We stayed at Margaret River Tourist Park over Easter and we booked with our caravan. We were given a motorhome site which is a bitumen site. These sites are spacious and the grass sites we saw looked nice too, with lots of nice green grass. The thing I liked most about this place was the actual grounds - lots of green grass, lovely trees and gardens. Unfortunately, the facilities let it down. The amenities are in a huge need of an upgrade. they are probably some of the worst I have seen in a caravan park. I don't mind if a place and its facilities are old but having things broken like shower taps, the door being almost impossible to open etc is something that needs to be fixed regardless of age. Also, the amenities were very messy and dirty and being over peak period when the whole caravan park is full, the toilets were out of toilet paper for 2 days - not acceptable. Aside from that, the staff we saw were friendly and the caravan park is about a 1km walk to the main street of Margaret River.

Our tour guide Paul told us we had to stop here for afternoon swim and drink. What an oasis in the Kimberley for the young and old. The owners Mark and Bronwyn are the most friendly genuine people you will meet. The pool is amazing, the camp grounds are fantastic. Mark and his wife have only just taken possession and are making awesome changes. The little bar which serves locally brewed beers that were fantastic and refreshing. We stayed for dinner and Mike the Chef is talented and the food was second to none. The dumplings were light and amazing, the wontons were crispy and so tasty. The mains we had was the salted port belly. It was melting in the mouth words cannot describe the taste. It was the best port belly ever had. They also offer a local indigenous tour guide run by Alfie that should not be missed as he is a character and has a wealth of local knowledge. It is not far from Gibb River turn off. The road in was really good. If you miss this place you are missing one of the true joys of the Kimberley. 5 stars does not do it justice.

CRAWLING WITH COCHROACHES

Reviewed By Sally S

Do not stay here if you avoid it! My room was absolutely crawling with cochroaches. I had a very hard time sleeping as I felt like they were on me at all times and considered sleeping in my car to get through the night. Squashed as many as I could however there are so many cracks in the walls, ceiling, and floor they were continuously coming in. Very frustrating as I had a big drive ahead of me the next day and needed a good nights sleep, which I did not get.
