Just moved into a new office in the same precinct and were searching for a decent place nearby. Happen to come across Top Paddock. It was indeed a great choice. The ambiance, hospitality everything you ask was of top notch. The coffee (latte double shot) was one of the finest I have ever had in Melbourne. The breakfast dish eggs benedict was just awesome (Slow Cooked Pulled Beef Brisket) was cooked to perfection. Well since my new office in just 50 meters away, I am sure I will be visiting this awesome place many more times in near future.

Overlooking Albert park and breathtaking city views, Fitzrovia has pride of place in our beautiful Federation mansion house with pressed tin ceilings, hand-made brick work, stained glass, baltic pine floors and a host of wonderful original features. From
Return visit - still friendly & enthusiastic service, excellent (healthy) food - something for everyone i.e. vegan, vegetarian or carnivore, relaxed atmosphere, open (& busy) kitchen, small but good value wine list. Highly recommended.

Dined here on a Monday night and chose four tapas offerings. Three were delivered and the fourth forgotten, but what we had was delicious. They did offer us the fourth selection, but the moment had passed. Staff were not overly attentive, and I had to ask for water and later for the bill, by getting up and going to the bar. This should be better in a place of this calibre.

Breakfast at the Galleon was just fantastic. The porridge with fruit as worth it alone, but then I had to have the tofu scramble too, couldn't miss out on that--just great! Tea was very good and the atmosphere is friendly and the staff are attentive.

I read the online menu and saw hand made lobster & prawn tortellini ($14/$24) and immediately want to try this place. So I grabbed my son and sat outside on a warm and balmy Melbourne evening. We both ordered the tortellini and my son ordered a Wagyu burger (and requested no pickles)The food came quite quickly (although it was a very quiet night in the restaurant at 8:00PM. Disappointment soon set in. The tortellini was certainly large and had 4 on the entree serve. The pesto sauce was thick and quite overpowering but the worst was the filling. Unsure why but the chef fills the tortellini with some type of brown mousse. There simply is no texture, no morsels, no bits. it certainly did not smell of seafood. I could only eat 3 of these as the sauce was overpowering and taste was lacking. The Goodthe atmosphere is quite nice for a warm night. It seems more like a daytime venue. The BadI would have liked an all day breakfast option. The waitress was very pleasant but I did not see her outside from the moment our food was brought to the table till we left. Inside the restaurant i guess were 4 - 6 people if that. So no idea where she went to or what we were to do should we actually wanted something to drink etcThe UglyThe burger was ordered without pickles. it had LOADS of pickles. I went up to pay and was never asked how my meal was or why there was so much food left on the plates. The Verdict... - would I go againPerhaps for breakfast.. certainly not for dinner but I would like more comfortable chairs if I was to sit for a long time. Its a shame as the place has promise..

This is an excellent but very busy modern cafe that has a old fashioned bakery feel. The food choices are excellent with a hearty and rustic flavor - I had a soup and it was tasty and healthy option as even the burgers seem to be!The service can be a bit patchy at times but it is a busy and clearly popular lock meeting place - both for residents and workers from the area.

There is a reason Shanklin are the top rated cafe in their area. Everything about the menu is quality. I enjoyed a milkshake and a burger and they were both fantastic. Great vibe, lovely staff and a perfect meal. Add to your list for sure!

Ok so, I use ONLY these beans in my machine at home as there’s no denying they are THE best beans for making a perfect at-home coffee. However one day I decided to actually TRY a coffee at AXIL. I was so disappointed; it was terribly weak and barely warm. I drank it between the counter and their front door. Hhhhmm, I thought for a café that prides themself on the best beans in Australia (?) the coffee would be great. Terribly disappointed.
