Lovely room

Reviewed By Metroviv

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel California Rd. The room was spacious and comfortable and the decor and vista were lovely. Breakfast items were supplied together with a couple of little treats. The only downside was that nobody was there to check us and another couple in at the designated time. Nobody answered the phone of the number given to call, and given the cold and wet weather, we had to sit in the car for over 30 minutes.

A Winter nature escape! Pack the wine and cheeses and Pt Lincoln fresh seafood

Super comfortable and beautiful setting. Very private and idyllic setting in the bush (we stayed in the Valley Retreat). Loved the fire as it was winter but the so cozy inside. We travel a lot and the bed here has to be one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in! The retreats are 15 minutes or so from Pt Lincoln, 10 mins from the airport - but they are true bush eco lodges with all the comforts you need. Pack the provisions and wine and sit back in comfort and enjoy the serenity of the bush.

Stayed here with my family. It’s like your own little peace of mind. Very clean, neat and tidy. Just some hair on the bunk beds. Other than that great place to relax. Not too far from the beach and town. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to my friends.

A special place

Reviewed By AJNSutherland

This is one of the best places to camp on the Oodnadatta Track - make the the best place. The sites are beautifully laid out with ample privacy between them. This place has special vibe which is rare, and other camping grounds could learn a lot about how to create a great experience. The couple (Barb & Scott) who run Coward Springs are fabulous - helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. They’ve not exploited the place by jamming in more and more sites so it’s kept a lovely charm. Would we go back? You bet!

First, thank you fire-fighters - and rangers - for making our holiday possible. We like lighthouse keepers' cottages and Troubridge Lodge was a beauty. Be sure to plan what to take, including glad wrap! The evening walks were spectacular. Watching the sun set over the ocean was magic. All the nature sights were very special. We were so lucky.

The lodge is very clean and has great facilities. It offers self -service breakfast and free bike rental. Staffs are friendly and helpful. I specially want to thank you the manager of the lodge who helped us on an accident. He took his personal time to pick us up around 10:30 pm while we lost in a dirty road where it’s 3 mins driving away from the lodge and our car didn’t work. He also took extra miles to help us to call the rental car company to explain what it happened and arranged the transportation for us to pick up a new car from rental car company next morning. Without his help, we didn’t know how we could do. I highly recommend this lodge and really appreciate all the time and help from the manager. (I’m really sorry that I don’t know how to spell his name, but he is very kind and drives a big truck to work :)

Fabulous stay

Reviewed By geb6

We have just returned from a 5 day stay at Hummocks Station. What a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing stay it was. The owners are easy to deal with and we had a drive through site, these are all grass underfoot which was a relief after the last three gravel sites! The sites are spacious and quite private between each. The amenities block has three cubicles and one disabled each with shower, toilet and basin, your own mine ensuite! These are sparkling clean and bath mats are provided if you don't have your own. Completing the amenities block is a laundry with a washing machine, dryer and sink. There is a large shed which looks like it could be used on cold nights as there were fire pits in there, a well equipped outdoor camp kitchen, again spotlessly clean. Plenty of walking along the river bed and it is pet friendly. Absolutely wonderful stay, getting away from the rat race. Will most definitely be back again. Highly recommend.
