It is bordered by Aia to the east and the south and Getaria to the west. It has four enclaves limiting the aforementioned municipalities: Alkortiaga, Ekano, Sola, and Arbestain. It's located about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) west of San Sebastián. As of 2014, Zarautz has a population of 22,890, which usually swells to about 60,000 in the summer.

Delicious food giving a great taste of the local food. The wine couldn't be better and the service was on top, everyone was super friendly and made me and my parents feel like at home in a super beautiful area full of nature and great views.

We found this restaurant following comments on this media and must say it exceeded our expectations. Xixario is a small restaurant close the riverbank with a traditional decor and a clear emphasis on fish. The fish is grilled outside and served with a simple but most delicous seasoning including olive oil, lemon/vinegar and garlic. They serve no potatoes, just bread, but that is quite enough: the sauce is so good we wanted to clean every bit of it with the bead provided.We ordered monkwish and sea bream, two medium-sized ones for our family. Both were cooked perfecly, soft and juicy, just as one could wish. This is aruably the best fish meal we have ever had outside our own Baltic waters! If you are anywhere near Orio, I recommed you give Xixario a try. Service is friendly, good English spoken and the recommeded wine, local Txakoli was a perfect match for the fish.If everything was so perfect, why just 4 points? Because of yhe price. With a couple of salads and wines&drinks, our meal for 2 adults, 2 kids cost us almost 200e. For the quality we had that was not totally unreasonable, but more we were expecting (the price of fish listed per kilo is always a bit challenging to estinate) and more one may consider fair as Donostia with its amazing delicacies is just 20 minutes away. The same budget there would qive you access to Michelin stars and pintxo places with equally high standard. Hence my 4 points. But still: if chance had not thrown us in Xixario, I would consider myself missing one top-of-the-line fish dining experience!

A real gem. Lovely location overlooking the small port and beach. Wonderful staff. Very efficient and very happy people. The food was excellent. We shared the Jabugo ham to start. Wow! The best of the best ever. Literally melted In your mouth, delicious. Enough for two to share. Followed with a lovely tuna salad with a great dressing. Finished with lobster in rice was amazing. Then ...... the cheesecake. OMG simply lovely. Not like any cheesecake you will have eaten before. So lovely forgot to get a picture. Then the surprise would be spoiled. Not expensive and all made better by the location and lovely staff.

Zubi-ondo is in a quiet spot at the end of Zarautz with a nice parking to avoid the madness of parking in the town. It's located next to one of the campings. Homemade traditional cuisine and great grill. Have been a couple of times and would repeat. Familiar service and not expensive. Has daily menu during the week (~10â¬) and special menu for weekends (~20).

We ate several times (lunch, dinner) in the restaurant, food was excellent, everything was fresh, fish, meat and very nice kooked. All the staff was very friendly and paying attention to all details. Also if you ask them they could give some hints for what to visit and nicest roads or places around. I can honestly say the chuleta was one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. Cooked perfectly as the pix shows. The scrambled eggs with mushrooms were also to die for, and everything else actually. Very well executed and honest prices.
