Paseo Costero

It is worth parking in Zarautz or in Getaria and walking the entire length of this Promenade and back. The views of the sea on one side, and of the rocky hills on the other, are spectacular! Zarautz, with its classic buildings and beautiful Beaches, is worth a visit, as is the beautiful Getaria, with its ancient walls, its interesting church, port, Elcano's statue, and Balenciaga Museum. Do not eat in the fancier tourist traps in the port; go to the chiringuito on the beach in Getaria or enjoy the pintxos on display in the bars along the main street.

As you wandered through the old town towards the far end you are greeted with this beautifully restored building. It has an information board written in Spanish and Basque. As I walked into the courtyard to see more I was greeted with two 'so called' homeless guys with three large dogs - a little intimidating. It was a shame to see the mess they were making in such an interesting place.

Went to this museum and was happy to hear it's free on Wednesday. Nice exhibition if you love photography. It's got all the old cameras from when it started. The staff was nice and helpful too. It's 4 floors but small area.
