The city itself (the parish Esposende, Marinhas e Gandra) had a population of 9,197 in 2001. It gained city status on 2 July 1993. The present Mayor is Fernando Couto Cepa, elected by the Social Democratic Party. The municipal holiday is August 19. It is located on the Portuguese Way of the Camino de Santiago.

Everything is green!Really good drinks. Try the marguerita with seasalt. The de Lux Grappa. The icecream from Portugal. Paletarium. Really nice experience. Try the Banana Nut. Exciting beers from Lisbon. Also smells nice in the place. Clean restrooms.Rui Silva is the best. So nice and interesting. Well worth a visit!thank you very much for the evaluation. it was a pleasure. best regards

Garden cafe/restaurant playing cool jazz and serving lovingly cooked, tastefully presented (and cheap) dishes - many smoked over the coals - with a selection of unique locally-sourced wines.They do a menu do dia through the week, and once my daughter and I found this place just down from our hotel (Axis Ofir) we ate nearly every meal here. A big bonus is that Thiago, the owner, and at least two of his waitresses speak excellent English. We arrived a little after closing time but they nicely agreed to let us eat even though they had already cleaned everything! We appreciated this a lot.The burgers and fries were excellent, as well as the juices made of fresh fruit. We would gladly come back!

We had dinner here for 2 times during our week in Esposende. A real nice quality restaurant. A surprising menu and a taste of a fusion kitchen here. Nice surprising entrees. Not too much food. Exact the right sizes. Also beautiful wines and try the sea fruit rice (marisco) dish. A but upmarket place. Nice service. Only one small detail when serving: take the time for your guests here. "Do they want to drink more" and pay attention to that. Good food, nice timing not too fast etc
