We stopped in Arouca for some unknown reason, the town was dead quiet (autumn). Started with olives and bread, olives were tough and tasteless, the bread was decent. We asked our waiter if the meat was going to be tender, he assured us multiple times it would be. We asked for medium rare, they only do medium or well done. Why????The meat was barely edible it was so tough, dry and over cooked. Absolutely disgusting. The 3 separate/different meat dishes were all over cooked and we left most of it behind. Donât bother with this joint. The staff were friendly but the food was rubbish.

After a walk in the Passadiços do Paiva we were hungry and on our way home we ended up in here. The menu is quite simple, you either pick steak or calf meat. We went for steak and one portion is enough for two persons. Four steaks were served with funny shaped fries, rice and salad. It tasted good, the food was served quite quick and the waiter was friendly. We paid around â¬30 in total for two persons which is quite expensive for Portugal but for foreigners very cheap for what you get.

Restaurante com comida regional e carnes de excelência.Sempre com uma ou outra inovação, apesar de ser um restaurante tradicional, antigo, mas sempre a evoluir para bem servir a sua clientela.Vale bem a pena uma deslocação a este local, que fica fora do centro de Arouca.
