Descobri este local na companhia de uns colegas depois de mais uma caminhada e fiquei muito surpreendido pela qualidade da comida e pelo preço praticado. à um restaurante familiar onde tudo é preparado como em nossa casa, os produtos são sempre que possÃvel criados na própria quinta e isso nota-se. O único inconveniente é ser necessário reservar de véspera, mas não deixem de experimentar este local, vale mesmo apena!

We stopped in Arouca for some unknown reason, the town was dead quiet (autumn). Started with olives and bread, olives were tough and tasteless, the bread was decent. We asked our waiter if the meat was going to be tender, he assured us multiple times it would be. We asked for medium rare, they only do medium or well done. Why????The meat was barely edible it was so tough, dry and over cooked. Absolutely disgusting. The 3 separate/different meat dishes were all over cooked and we left most of it behind. Donât bother with this joint. The staff were friendly but the food was rubbish.

Even it is not in the town center but with the car it is easy to reach the place, easy to find. Staff was very friendly and helpful, speaks english. Mostly seems like italian style restaurant, in a menu dominates pizzas and pastas. We ate pizzas and all was good and tasty. Don't miss a chance to eat there.

In an abandoned mining small village, after a drive through beautiful mountain landscapes of sierra da Freita and S. Macário, a threat to endure the 5km walk to beautiful and deserted Drave: O Mineiro.Order by phone, or before visiting the mine. à isto que me faz ter orgulho de ser português. Esqueçam de vez as "caganitas" gourmet. à isto que devemos recomendar a quem nos visita.Moelas, é coisa corriqueira em qualquer lado. Aqui, não. De orelheira, sou apreciador, mas estas são de topo. A vitela arouquesa, idem. De sobremesa, provámos o cheesckaque: o melhor de sempre. Acompanhámos com um verde branco (trajadura e pederná) da região, que se revelou uma boa escolha.O atendimento: é como estar em casa. Gente simples e honesta.

This restaurant is very well located (next to the Monastery); it has a nice ambience and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The entries are very good and very âPortugueseâ â some foreigners probably will find strange some of the offer. Already the meat dishes are for all tastes and are very tasteful. As the portions are so big I didn´t try the desserts but they looked delicious. Enjoy!

This is the same place as the "Parlamento" restaurant in Arouca (Assembleia is the right name), so I'm repeating my review here.Got to this place after not being able to visit "Passadiços do Paiva" (hadn't booked a ticket for the day, and there were no more tickets available to sell).Even though we arrived after "regular lunch hours in Portugal", staff was very friendly and welcomed us with a great smile. The menu had a good selection of local (meat, mostly) products, which are served in very generous portions.Had the "Postinha", which in portuguese is a diminutive for "Posta", and even the 1/2 serving represented something around 350-400 grams of the best meat. Really enjoyed it!

We stayed at Quinta da Vila. Alfredo (from quinta da vila) advised is to go here and take our time for a good lunch. That turned out to be a great idea!Incredible and unique place! The "village" the restaurant is in is just like a little "open air museum" in the middle of nowhere.We had the codfish (bacalhau) and chocolate mousse for desert. It was just great!And when we were there it was very foggy and a bit rainy. So with good weather the view over the valley must be beautiful so that will make it even better ;-)

We went to Pedestre 142 for lunch at Mothers Day. When we arrived, it was early, the restaurant was still very quiet and all went very well. The welcome cocktail was perfect, the service very friendly, the table perfectly decorated, the cheese and chorizo platter was on the table with bread, service was fast. All perfect. We order, the food come. And then lost of people come in, the restaurant was full and service just went down hill. We waited a long time for someone to come for desert, a long time for the bill that we end up paying at the bar. But the food was very good, we had Posta and Leitão. Desert was ok, since it was a set menu there was not much choice for desert and no fruit. I've been here a couple times and tried pizzas and other food and although they advertise themselves as a pizzeria, the best food isn't the pizzas.I find the pizzas to be very "doughie" and you get stuffed very fast.The rest of the food is very nice and they have some gorgeous and very tasty meat (steak) that I'd definitely recommend over the pizzas.The staff is nice and helpful and the service is reasonable fast.
