Give me a relaxed welcoming environment serving great food over a uptight fancy pants restaurant serving overpriced food every time. Star Pizzeria did not disappoint. Here I will say that it's everything that makes it great. The chill bar with lots of tables, tv's, locals, cheap beer, and good food. We ordered a plain and pepporni pizza. The pizza was crispy, cheesy, and tasty. It was good in a thin crust bar style pizza is good. Would I go back just for the pizza? Probably not but if someone wants good food, cheap drinks, and a casual atmosphere. Star Tavern is a great spot.

If youâre craving a great burger at a great price, then this is the place you want to beâ¦.Period. Yes, Iâve had many excellent burgers throughput the US, but also paid substantially more for them. This is the best burger for its price, hands- down. Twelve (12) ounces of fresh beef, cooked to order, on a little-wee grill from behind the bar. A must visit in NJ if you take your burgers seriously. Chicken wings, fried shrimp and other items make up their limited menu, none of which will disappoint you. Shame on you if you donât stop by after reading their reviews...craving a burger right now.

Brisket sandwich was tasty and tender but not enough meat and a bit fatty. Pulled Pork platter was good and generous portions. Service was friendly and efficient and the place is comfortable. Coleslaw and sweet potato fries were decent. Cornbread was average and broccoli casserole was not so good. Overall and enjoyable meal. Thank you for your positive recommendation. I had a week in Newark in May and made Belloâs my regular lunchtime spot for a few beers and lunch. Great bar with Awesome Bar-staff, Peggy, Tina & Corrina who always made an English Man welcome! Good food, Great Beer, Great Staff and friendly locals. Busy lunchtime crowd and packed on a couple of evening visits. Lots of Sports on TV and soccer memorabilia, scarfs etc on the ceiling. Red Bull Arena is walkable from the bar. Highly recommended if in Newark!

Classic Irish pub, great social atmosphere, with the usual selection of refreshments on hand. Great selection of beer and cider on draft. Extensive menu really a cut above typical pub fare.
