The ambiance is very good. The service is okay.Perhaps they are a little short staffed? The food varies between excellent and vary good depending on what you order.BUT.... The noise level is unacceptably high in various parts of the diner.Dear Richard,Thank you for taking your time sharing your experience at State Street Grill! Our sincere apologies that the dining section you seated was too loud - perhaps there were too many customers enjoying their meal and chatting at the same time..!We hope to see you again with a faster service and better quality of dishes.Have a wonderful holidays!

The sculptures around the building, the crass interior design make this establishment kind of unique. As is the view of Manhattan skyline. Large portions, a little overpriced, very good service. And a full bar, what else could one ask for.

We met our friends for brunch on Labor Day: was not too crowded. Voted by NJ.com as best diner in Essex County, we decided to meet our friends for a meal. Our friends had the eggs Benedict and really liked them. My wife had an omelette and thought it was good but not great. I had a wrap with fries. The balsamic vinegar on the wrap made the wrap too soggy. The fries were good. Server was super friendly. They have a parking lot.
