Cozy hotel in the Nagu center

Reviewed By Pasaatituuli

Nagu is a tiny place so the Hotel Lanterna could not be more centred as it is right now. In the middle of everything. As one can read from previous comments it is situated in a previous private house. During our stay they used self check-in which went without any problems according to advice received via SMS. If one does not expect 5-star service and large halls this charming hotel will suit you very well. There's plenty of positive things to tell: clean room with private bathroom (room 11), nice breakfast area, good breakfast in spite of covid-19 regulations, on first floor coffee maker, water cooker and microwave oven, super strong water pressure in shower (best ever) and plenty of hot water, restaurant just over the yard etc. Just a couple of minor negative things: the bathroom floor was a bit too chilly in September and I couldn't find a sink plug. That last one is a fact faced in most hotels I have visited. This is a place with right standards and a good choise for those wanting to have more than just B&B.

Feeling of overpriced

Three persons, almost 200 €/night. We expected a nice hotel where's everything in order. Well, it wasn't like that. A person at the reception was friendly and told us that the sauna will cost 30 € more. No thanks. The room was recently renovated and was from Ikea catalog. It was light coloured and quite nice. Toilet was awful. Walls or floor were never washed properly. They had some kind of dark layer on them. No floor towel, and other towels were in bad shape. Mirrors had been cleaned with a dirty cloth as they were white. Not anything to dry the floor with. Walls were so thin we could hear everything our neighbors said. Thank God we had earplugs with us. The breakfast was average but we couldn't hear any good morning from the staff. The porridge was luke warm and got cold during eating. Home made bread was a nice surprise. After all, the place was nice but if you charge that much, you have to give something back. Now we got a place to spend a night, nothing more.

A beautiful old sauna

Reviewed By 465angelikap

An unusual place with very nice staff. Quite unexpectedly, the overnight stay was in a house with an old sauna. Climate completely different from ordinary hotels, but instead of a 5 star hotel I will always choose this inn.

Lovely place and friendly host

Reviewed By Kald06

We rented the loft for our family. We had a private toilet and shower downstairs and upstairs was the loft itself: a large room with a kitchen corner, dinning table. Sofa and 4 beds, yet as it is a large room there was still plenty of space. A buffet breakfast was available too and I lovely setting and room with the view of the fields. We found our host very friendly and she offered some guidance as things to do in our short stay and place to eat which turned out to be good recommendations.

Awesome café! (but the little town isn't)

Reviewed By NordicTraveler050486

We found this café to be quite impressive. Great pastries and very nice Italian ice cream. The city of Nagu, however, is far from welcoming for tourists, especially if you are on a motorhome. Then you are decidedly not welcome. There is nowhere to throw garbage away, nowhere to empty or fill your tanks, and unless you are willing to "bend" the law a bit, nowhere to park your camper overnight. This city is geared towards rich yacht owners and the wealthy who are willing to pay €€€ to stay at their boutique hotels. The rest can just keep going down the road. Beware.
