Ended up visiting here 3 times as the food was so good. It was well presented and especially good was their sharing seafood rice which had some great flavours. Amazing value- the bill was on the same level with every other restaurant we visited but the food a notch above! Lovely team and really well styled restaurant add to experience!

A small family place with a decoration quite kitsch, may be not on purpose. The waitress was super friendly, speaking excellent english and knowledgeable about the dishes and the wines.The chef invented a very good and original dishes for the 2 vegans. It's rare to find a chef so flexible. The fish dishes was our best so far. Perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Very reasonable prices. We will come back for sure!

We were staying in the Savoy Sancharum hotel and we were Looking for somewere else to eat and we came across this restaurant.We can highly recommend this place, the food is great and the service is very good. We have been twice in this cosy restaurant.First time we went there with 4 persons, second time we were two.The service was great and we enjoyed the homemade Poncha :-).But we also really enjoyed the good food, especially the extraordinary Lapas dish which is typical for Madeira.Lapas are snails from the Atlantic Ocean served hot with some garlic butter and some drops of lemon juice.We tested this dish in four different restaurants but at A Pipa it was the best experience!Obrigado!

4th time this year we have visited.Staying in hotel over the road but prefer a quiet intimate meal.The food is tasty ,well cooked and great value,a simple menu so you know stuff is cooked fresh .Staff are welcoming and attentive.Tables outside in gazebo when weather is warm but it is heated outdoors too.Even in winter it is mild enough to eat outside if you're from u.k .Will return next time we are over on holiday .Dear guest and member of Tripadvisor, we like to thank you for your kind words and to let you know that you will be always welcomed at our restaurant Dona Nina

We have just had an incredible meal here. The portion sizes are very large and all the dishes were very tasty. Quite a few of the dishes were something a little different. This was the first restaurant we went, after 10h of travelling. My wife had already visited, so it was an easy pick. The service is very nice and welcoming,There is an ocean view from the terrace, and even from the inside tables. You can enjoy a full blast of atlantic sunset while s ipping' nice wine or a cocktail.The menu is very well thought of. Simple enough but also something for every taste.And the pricing. Well, it is a top notch location with a view. But the price of dinner is still very low. Personally I would have paid double for what we got and still be happy.

As a couple of others have noted this is odd this is at number 1, we arrived 11.50 and told they werent serving food, when we asked when they could they said 12pm so we insisted we sit and wait for kitchen to open. other customers turned up after us and their order was taken before ours, there was no local bread just as another review says. and the menu only had 4 options. food was very average im afraid. dont go here expecting an amazing dining experience.

3 people out of 4 were happy with the food, however, the food took over 1 hour to be served(I estimate 1h and 20minutes). There is no joke. We were with a 9month kid and the wait killed us. Fish of the day was not good. The risotto with seafood was very good.Dear Customer Thank you for wasting your time writing your poor comment and scorning a very low score.It is difficult to accept your review because you not being completely honest.Since you and group arriving at the restaurant you have had all the support of our staf from beginning to the end of dinner.-Our food is all freshly cooked -Your fish of the day was not to your liking because we waited 20 minutes to serve because you been away during that time to try to calm down your baby.Your Dinner since you arrivale takes 38 minutes to cook during the time that you are way.-"The wait killed us" just as you said because the baby did not stop crying and you feelt embarrassed at the other customers.Dear sir your absence from the table during you food was send to the table bot had too be send back to the kitchem since your and wife were not there ,with the rest of the group waiting for you to start dinner.As you saw that night we had the restaurante full off customer therefor you need to be a litle more patient because we love to serv you perfect prepared meals how is our habit.We sory you had a bad experience in our restaurant and will do everthing to rectify it.We are aware that we offer the best service and food possible to thouse who have visited us to this day ,please call again in future SinceryFranco
