14 nights stopping close by. Loads of eating places within a 10 minute walk.First visit here impressed us so much that two further visits were made.The menu offers various dishes. On one of our visits I decided to try Steak on the Stone and opted for the large one. Believe me that it was a sight to behold. The meat was without doubt one of the best steaks Iâve ever had.Donât be put off by the initial appearance, itâs a hidden gem.Excellent value for money.

We enjoyed all the dishes which we found generous and tasty and the staff took time and gave attention to detail. The atmosphere is sophisticated and elegant. A wonderful evening with a. classical violin and pianist. We were advised that booking is a good idea so we arranged over the web.The menu is varied and we enjoyed every dish. We had heard about Lillyâs from a previous trip but had been unable to fit it into our itinerary! Big mistake!!!The restaurant is extremely relaxing very flexible and the food is outstanding! Do try the pre meal madeira wine - dry - it is a delight. We had the calamari, octopus for starters and the filet with mushrooms and RV for mains. Each were superb and the Alvarihno wine with it made our day! Wonderful, we had such a lovely evening, there was a lady singing jazz , the food is wonderful, set menu is amazing, loads of choice and plenty of wine included, we have eaten there twice last year and will be going back again before we go home this time, the staff are great, so friendly and really nice and helpful, seriously cannot fault this place, we had absolutely lovely steak , have not had anything like this at home.

We have just had an incredible meal here. The portion sizes are very large and all the dishes were very tasty. Quite a few of the dishes were something a little different. This was the first restaurant we went, after 10h of travelling. My wife had already visited, so it was an easy pick. The service is very nice and welcoming,There is an ocean view from the terrace, and even from the inside tables. You can enjoy a full blast of atlantic sunset while s ipping' nice wine or a cocktail.The menu is very well thought of. Simple enough but also something for every taste.And the pricing. Well, it is a top notch location with a view. But the price of dinner is still very low. Personally I would have paid double for what we got and still be happy.

We went to Chrisâs with some expectations, based om good reviews, but this was still a positive surprice. The chevre was great, the grilled seabass was excellent and the cheesecake with Camenbert was a winner. The best thing with Chrisâs was still the service, highly professional, nice and relaxing. I dined with two other family members in September, and we enjoyed this restaurant very much. We all had seafood dishes which were fresh and wonderful. Mine was three pieces of seafood served over a butter-rich black (squid ink?) pasta and it was amazing! Anyone visiting this island should try this restaurant.

This friday we had a dinner in a new opened restaurant in Funchal. We were triggered by the concept when we discovered it last month on instagram. A single table restaurant with serves up to 8 people only and serving a set menu with mostly local ingredients and special secret products new or rarely discovered on the island. We had the pleasure dining with a wide variety of people. Local and from abroad mixed together. Will not write all about the courses, but what we can say its all worth it. This young chef and his team is ready to rumble the Funchal dining scene. We went home with a smile on our face and some new made friends from Madeira. The ambiance is really superb, food is something next level and the concept dining and sharing this with new people is of an different kind we never experienced.
