We came to the restaurant in hope to have a nice dinner at sunset. Fortunately, they had only a reservation for 20 or for 21:30. We picked the latest time spot and completed tremendous hiking along the Atlantic coast at sunset. Otherwise we wouldnât see anything from the terrace as it looks directly at the parking lot. The next disappointment was the food. We skipped extra expensive tapas and decided to go with lemon rice with sea bass and clams. We were served with a pot of rice soup with a bit of fish and maybe 8 clams. That for 40 â¬!! The day before we ate a huge cataplana with plenty of fish and clams in the city center of Faro exactly for the same price. You will not get sate without eating the whole rice which is astonishing for the price. Generally, the place is too expensive and unjust expensive for its offer for Vila Nova de Milfontes. Spend rather time on the cliffs at the sunset and go eat somewhere else

Wonderfully atmospheric top quality rustic restaurant located in a narrow side street off the heart of this lovely coastal town, Tasca do Celso serves up outstanding meat and fish dishes and some fine Alentejo wines to accompany them. My sea bream was quite simply the best I have tasted, while my wife was just as enthusiastic about her tuna with a twist. Truly special was her verdict. Service was first class. Our waiter Francisco was an absolute credit to the owners - polite, charming and so helpful. Do not miss out should you be afforded the opportunity to visit. I am confident you will not be disappointed. Booking absolutely essential. Such is its reputation - and totally justified - they were turning would-be customers away in spades.John W, Swansea

The restaurant is everything I expected and more!Food was delicious and served by a lovely man Flavio who made our day extra special as it was the start of our holiday! Over all, a perfect evening!Definitely I'll come back here ! The best sea food in town and very reasonable prices x just 10 minutes from the beach

Medium sized restaurant on the corner - parking about 200 meters away or on the streets nearby. This has become one of our staple restaurants. Good fresh local food, superb presunto and shrimps in garlic and oil and a great house salad. Chef is fantastic, staff friendly and willing to leave out my food allergy items, and always with a smile on their faces. It can get very busy and there is a small section outside on the pedestrian walkway should you wish to dine in the sun, or smoke. They always have a good selection of grilled fish and other local specialities. Toilets are immaculate and suitable for disabled people and families with children. Really good value for money, we return often.

The Marquês is a Porto Covo classic and a must go if you are in the area. Sits on the main square and it is a difficult gig to try and get in as they donât take bookings. Be there early to secure a table. Food wise you can go for proper dishes or chose the âpetiscosâ or sharing plates (my favorite) they are equally awesome drawing their quality from the proximity to the sea. The fish, seafood but also the meet is masterfully cooked and presented with your option of wine or the best draught beer around. Service is old school, hectic but efficient. Pricey but worth it!

Very wellcoming space with wild fish as starter followed by seafood specials (oysters, mussels and rower crab), fish or meat dishes with amazing presentation and finally tasty desserts (tiramisú, cooked pear with vanilla ice cream and crème brûlée) + white wine Coemda Grande Sauvignon BlancThank you very much for your comment, it is always a pleasure to receive you at our home (restaurant).The ALENTO team looks forward to seeing you soon.

The food and service here is ok, but nothing special, especially compared to other places in the Alentejo region. We got charged for bread, cheese, pate and butter that we didnât order - it was brought to our table but made out to be complimentary. The portions are large, but its just not that great.

A sala não é nada de especial, nada haver com uma marisqueira. O atendimento para além de muito demorado é pouco simpático e nada profissional. Pedidos um Travessão de marisco pra 4, a santola estava salgada e muito lÃquida, a sapateira nunca tinha comido nenhuma tal má, ameijoas só comi uma tinha mais sal do que 1 kg de sal, os pecebes foram os únicos que se safaram embora sejam muito pequenos, as gambad nem sequer tive vontade de provar. Enfim.... a não voltar.
