Herdade da Matinha is a country hotel set amidst nature, in the Alentejo, but also very close to the beach. We have 35 rooms. A place for relaxation and rejuvenation, Herdade Da Matinha is surrounded by old oak trees. Start the day with breakfast in bed or on the covered veranda. Meals are homemade and feature farmhouse breads and cheeses, as well as renowned Portuguese wines. Sample local specialities made with homegrown, organic vegetables. Spend time exploring the area. Alternatively, you can soak up sun while relaxing next to Herdade Da Matinha outdoor pool. The hotel also offers comfortable seating areas inviting you to take it easy.

Reviewed By davidfL7115SOSumptuous accommodation on every level, beautiful pools and stunning public areas set in a tranquil rural setting. Dinner was of the table d’hote variety - one starter, main and dessert which was ok if nothing exceptional. The house white actually recommended by our server, a first, was not only relatively inexpensive but pretty good on the palate. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice from pancakes through eggs or cold meats with fresh orange juice or whatever combination required. Faultless. Our room was in a separate accommodation block of 8 apartments a short walk from the main building in what could loosely be described as a shipping container but the similarity ended with the structure. Inside, a massive and insanely comfortable bed, deep pile carpet and powerful shower completed a beautiful room which was metres from a well appointed pool area. My only complaint - and for me it is a serious problem - is the access road to the property, a 2km dirt track that no doubt shortened the lives of my rented car’s tyres considerably. Driving up and down this monstrosity raised my blood pressure as well and cancelled out much of the chill experience the hotel os designed to engender. If you love your car do not under any circumstances bring it here. That said, a great experience and highly recommended.

Es gibt eine gut ausgestattete Küche, einen kleinen Patio und unser Zimmer hatte einen Balkon. Super netter Inhaber, der uns beiden erschöpften Damen, die Koffer hochgetragen hat - das weiss man nach einer Wanderung zu schätzen!

Country-side guest house in little hamlock with 7 en-suite rooms in little cottages spread around the garden.Excellent breakfast, relaxed familiar atmosphere. Very quiet, lots of nature, big garden, very good food- organic kitchen garden- ,near to all the beautiful beaches of the alentejan litoral, and a wonderful hiking area-close to the Rota Vicentina .Recommended if you want no stress, beach, hiking, reading, nature.
Great conditions in the middle of nature
Reviewed By ZionianWe spent a couple of days and we could stay much longer. The place is amazing if you enjoy staying in the middle of nature. No noise and many stars in the sky at night. We stayed in the “Green House”. It’s cozy and small with everything you need also to prepare meals. There’s a nice balcony outside to enjoy the stars. Excellent hospitality. The breakfast served at the house is great and we also had dinner one time prepared by the hosts. Also great. The place is in the middle of nowhere but just 10 minutes away from local town and 20 minutes from great beaches. 5 points and we will for sure come back one day!

And all you hear around is the sound of nature, absolutely brilliant. Ada & Prince, both happy managers, are always around and Made me feel comfortable and secure. If you don‘t like dogs … stay away from Alentejo at all :-)) auf you‘re looking for 5* Hotels and Boutiques and posh nightlife … too. Alentejo is a hidden and wild diamond. And Quinta Camarena fits in this spectacular nature easily. I hope it stays like that!!! I‘ll definitely come back, this place stole my heart. And soul.

Reviewed By KathleenR_28If you are on a budget and want a place to stay for the night, no frills, then this place may be for you. It is on the Rota Vicentina and is in the center of Cercal, close to restaurants and cafes and grocery stores. They are under renovation but I did not hear any noise. The reception is stark simple and the front desk staff were very friendly and courteous. The double bedroom is basic and simply adorned and it was comfortable. The wifi was intermittent but I have a data plan so it was not a problem. The shower had good water pressure and can be as hot as you want it to be. Breakfast is not included but there are lots of cafes around where you can have a couple of cafe Americanos and a tosta mista, for roughly 3 euros only. I do agree with some reviewers that the room is a bit pricey, considering the value. But I did check around the area and I did not find anything that was within my budget.

Reviewed By Tiago RUm jardim no meio do Cercal com o staff mais simpático que alguma vez vi e estive. Espaço lindo muito bem cuidado por todo o staff do espaço. Um sitio para quem quer relaxar com a cara metade ou mesmo com crianças pois alem da piscina para criança tem até um trampolim. Só passamos uma noite mas de certeza que vamos voltar para mais uns dias. Pequeno almoço fantástico.

The Refuge is a recent accommodation that opened on August 10, 2019. It consists of 5 rooms with various types, all with private bathroom. We are in the new area of Cercal just 350 meters from the village center, this area very calm and quiet.We are in the Alentejo Coast 10 minutes from the beaches, and in the Seine da Rota Vicentina.We have a great cuisine, from bread, sausages.
