I was so excited that the restaurant offered gluten-free pasta dishes, there was only one way to go...so I ordered an entree with a "simple" meat sauce. Turned out to be flavorful and perfect!We were seated immediately, even though it appeared that the place was filled to capacity. Guess that calling ahead worked!Atmosphere is cozy and kitschy. Servers were patient and professional. Every dish had a fresh, homemade taste. Portions were generous and prices quite reasonable. Parking is tricky so take an Uber and order 1 or 2 bottles of wine.I'm almost afraid to post this terrific review because I would sort of prefer to keep this one a secret, but I think it's already too late for that. Some of my Italian food is right here! Iâve been stopping by this restaurant when Iâm in Ft. Lauderdale visiting family these last few years. This is a favorite with locals as evidenced by staff personally greeting customers but that friendliness is extended to all who walk through the door. I love the bountiful menu and no matter what I order is delicious. A favorite is the Spaghetti Bolognese . Everything Iâve sampled here has been very good.

With its friendly, attentive staff and a nice, reasonably priced wine selection, Café Italia is a neighborhood Italian restaurant that will win you over with its high quality, well prepared dishes. Owner Francesco has been greeting guests here for over 25 years. It's a small family operated restaurant where you can hear Italian spoken and all dishes are made to order.Word of mouth is how we learned about the place which is located on the ground floor of an office building. We were seated immediately and presented with a plate of excellent cheese and olives and outstanding fresh baked Italian style bread. The menu is somewhat limited with emphasis on pasta and seafood. I chose the veal Marsala dish and a side of angel hair pasta with garlic & olive oil. Very high quality, perfectly prepared veal and excellent pasta. My dining mate chose the pasta and shrimp served with a side salad. Wine by the glass is priced at $6 per. Total tab was $65 which was more then fair considering the quality of the ingredients. Thank you for an excellent dining experience!

Had the cavatelli and gnocchi both as half order appetizers. The Cavatelli was out of this world incredible, perfectly al dente.The meatballs and sausage was very good as well but what stole the cake was the veal Picatta that wasnât on the menu that they made specially for me.While their corkage fee is a bit steep (35 dollars), we appreciate they allow this.Canât wait to return!Thank you for your positive review! I visit this place every time Iâm in Fort Lauderdale. It is a nice cozy restaurant with nice Italian food for a reasonable price. They have a nice terrace however it may be a bit too hot on a summer night. We started with a few tapas: caprese salad delicious, veal meatball very nice, arrancini was with saffron rice which was also nice, the beef carpaccio was the only dish that was just ok to me. We had three pizzas, spicy salami was very nice, sausage with ricotta which was very good, and the truffle mushroom with artichokes. All the pizzas were very tasty, I would actually recommend sharing for two people because they are quite large for one person. We also ordered a Greek Salad with grilled chicken, it wasnât really Greek as it had arugula, tomatoes,cucumbers, olives and feta cheese. I prefer Greek Salad without any lettuce or greens. We also had 2 glasses of wine. The total bill for all this food was 185$ which is very reasonable. If you are looking for a casual place to eat dinner this restaurant is a nice option for families and friends.

Italian food is arguably my favorite type of food. However, Italian restaurants tend to disappoint me more than any other type of restaurant. Unfortunately, La Dolce Vita continued that disappointing trend. My wife and I visited on Friday night. To start we had the Polenta Al Tartufo. This was an enjoyable appetizer: savory polenta was topped with a cream sauce and tender mushrooms. My pasta dish was a disaster. The Chitarrina Salsiccia & Tartufo was one of the most raved about dishes based on other online reviews so I felt compelled to order it. It was a like eating wet noodles: the cream sauce was watery and the sausage pieces were flavorless. My wife ordered another popular pasta dish, the Chitarrina Calamari E Pomo Morbidi, which was also bland. I will say the service was good and thoughtful but it couldnât make up for the poor quality of the food.
