Movida Bar de Tapas

The first restaurant to ignite Melbourne’s obsession with tapas, sharing plates, and venues tucked away down graffiti-scrawled laneways, MoVida Original stands proud in Hosier Lane as a stalwart Melbourne icon. Whether it's from the bustling dining room o

Another international flight another opportunity to sample Bar Pulpo! But more to the point Chef Berger’s perfect facsimiles of the legendary Frank Cammora’s signature tapas repotoire. I ate with Chef Dan G who is working on the new Delia airport concept and he has a very highly tuned palate, so when he is raving about the food you know it’s good. Not only is the food on point but great value for money $36 buys you 6 tapas and a beer or wine. Also big shout out to front of house manager Daniel who has been at Bar Pulpo for quite some time his understanding of the menu and tapas bar concept coupled with his can do attitude sets a solid platform for Chef Berger’s team to weave their magic. This is a must do when on airside at Melbourne International Airport.

At $59 per person or even the groupon voucher discount of $29 per person, I expect high tea to be a special treat, not a horrible experience that leaves me feeling utterly cheated and ripped off. At their high tea experience the waiter came round with a jug of watered down teabag tea and another jug of watered down percolater coffee. I asked what other options were available and was told ordering anything else would incur an additional cost. The absolute essence of a high tea experience is having a choice of teas prepared by the pot or a choice of coffee. In addition, a voucher offer is supposed to be a chance for restaurants to show off to potential new customers, not treat them like second class schmucks. I left this underground room feeling that I'd been served a low ball instead of high tea. I strongly advise against making a booking here.

We booked for an early (5.00pm) dinner before our show around the corner. The place was vibrant, warm and inviting. Great decor with plenty of wine. We spent 2 hours feasting and drinking while enjoying all that Punch Lane has to offer. The food was amazing. Sides are large enough to share. Service was exemplary and totally satisfied customers were everywhere. Not the cheapest venue but well worth the price to get spoilt and have an awesome night out.Hi Alanmcgrathnz,Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.Glad to see you enjoyed our food and service. We look forward to seeing you again soon before another show!

A small, but outstanding restaurant with some interesting ideas on modern French food. The table service was top-notch and whilst the food wasn't cheap, it represented good value for money. Wine selection was also first class and suggestions made by the waiter regarding which wines to have with our meals were considered and worthwhile. This establish is well worth a visit- go ahead and book it!

Cutler & Co

Reviewed By Meredith W

This was a special occasion dinner with our family and Cutler & Co certainly didn’t disappoint. The service was first class, friendly, professional and attentive while the ambience was wonderful. The sommelier was especially helpful and knowledgeable when deciding between two wines on the list. The food was delicious except for our daughter’s fish which was unfortunately over cooked. She was disappointed as the dinner was in her honour and she didn’t enjoy her main course. However, my husband thought his chicken was divine while my other daughter and I chose a vegetarian pasta which was flavourful and filling. The whole table were particularly taken with the entrees although Serrano ham was substituted in one of the dishes as the restaurant had run out of bresaola, which we thought would be a highlight on the menu provided. The two dessert options were nice and there was also a wide selection of cheeses.Despite a couple of minor issues I would have no hesitation in recommending Cutler & Co for a wonderful night out.
