Reviews on Grill food in Obidos, Central Portugal, Portugal. When 13th-century Portuguese Queen Isabel passed through Obidos and marveled at its beauty, her husband King Denis I simply gave it to her. For centuries after, the kings of Portugal followed suit, presenting the picturesque little town to their queens as a wedding gift. With its white buildings shining as brightly now as then, the walled city of Obidos is very popular with tourists, its hillside location offering amazing views of the Estremadura area. The medieval castle is a main attraction.

The views during sunset at amazing and worth a trip. I recommend coming for that, having a few drinks and maybe an appetizer or two. We found the main courses were subpar and took quite a while.

At Melro you can find Portuguese food made with the best ingredients of the region. Every day at lunch, for a quicker meal, we have daily dishes. You can also choose our specialties: cheeses and portuguese sausages, snails, scrambled eggs with green aspar
Best black pork I have ever tasted and local veg, excellent cheesecake and glass of wine huge and good. Very friendly family run place off the beaten track. Highly recommend for value for money.

We enjoyed our lunch here at the Conquistador. The fish stew and seafood rice were very good. Two of our children had cheese omelettes, which were OK but contained rock hard wedges of cheese...! The waiter was nice, friendly and helpful. It's nice to eat outside in the sunshine and we found the prices OK for the main street in Ãbidos, where prices are OK but quite expensive by Portuguese standards.
