Driving past it looked inviting so we parked straight away in a convenient free parking right outside the door and were nicely surprised by the interior. The decoration is eclectic, with really nice soft music playing in the background and fantastic service. We were greeted by very nice waiters (maybe the owner) as this is a small place and loved the menu. We went mid afternoon looking for a snack, had fresh broccoli soup which was lovely, an amazing spinach salad and a bagel. Quality was superb, all ingredients of great quality and it felt like it could not be fresher (on a Sunday). Genuine friendly staff and great value for money. I would go back over and over if I was nearby.

We had to call three times to get our reservation. First two calls were simply hanged up: first because we spoke English, second because we wanted table only for two. Finally, on third attempt, we got our reservation confirmed. What a surprise, when we arrived to the venue and they had neither our reservation nor a free table. During the discussion with the manager, she complained we might have called wrong number. When showing her the number, she said she does not know their phone number, and only when compared with their business card, she agreed, was a right number. In the meantime, we have been passed by two groups, one of six and other of eight people. These were accomodated immediately. Finally, we had no other choice to leave the venue - maybe they are not interested in couples, only larger groups.

Seriously, at some point I was sure that they would come out with a candid camera moment and start laughing. The waitress recommended that we try the 5 tapas where the Supreme Chef picks what we are to have. (I also asked for a tapa that they didnt have and of course the wine my husband wanted they didn’t have either.) But let’s carry on. The first course was tiny thin crispy bread which came with two raw garlic cloves still in their skins and some peices of tomatoe. Hmm..... okay let’s go for round two: had a ceviche that was okay and a salad that was okay. Nothing to right home about. But boy the staff wanted you to think it was the nectar of life. Now for the hot course... fried cheese balls no sauce and kimchi tiny chicken wings which made me want to gag. Now I’m wishing I had more dried up bread! Now for the main course: gooey rice with shrimp still in their shells head and all. Told to pop the whole thing in our mouths. Husband did and said they were very crunchy and the antenna hurt his mouth. Please bring me more bread! Dessert was passé and we should have been paid to eat this meal. Overated to say the least!

Dinner was good here. I think the reason this restaurant is so popular is because most of the other ones in Sintra are crap tourist traps selling the same rubbish fish dishes over and over again. If this restaurant was in a city, it wouldn’t stand out, but because it’s in Sintra, it shines.I had fois gras which was excellent, followed by veal with sweet potatoes and vegetables which was also excellent. My wife had lobster and crab soup which was ok followed by scallops with cauliflower puree which was insipid. Tasteless. A plate full of bland.Would I recommend it, yes. It’s a busy place so make sure you make a reservation.

I had passed at their door many times and finally decided to get in for lunch. It did not disapoint at all! We had traditional Portuguese pastéis de bacalhau (codfish fritters), which were fried to perfection, and chicken thigh stuffed with chestnust and grapes, with a side of creamed spinach and oven potatoes. Absolutely delicious! The portions were generous, too. For dessert we had tiramisu and red fruit pavlova, both amazing as well. The restaurant has a nice cosy atmosphere, making the whole experience a mix of traditional and modern, without letting you feeling to old to be hip! We loved it and can't wait to go back!

Absolutely Wonderful. We went for lunch after visiting Palace before Quinta da Regaleira (FUN). Bit difficult to find on phone navigation since it’s up a hill - kept telling us we’d arrived but kept walking in circles. Sweet little place with an excellent staff. While waiting a short time for a table got to see all the dishes coming out of the kitchen & knew what we wanted to order before looking at the menu. The two of us shared the spinach cream, cod soup & double mix plate (cod, octopus & shrimp over spinach & sweet potatoes) so fantastic. 40 € I think. Would go again in a second. Thanks denheinz for your comment and rating :)We are always very happy with the good comments we have received, as we feel rewarded for our work and this gives us motivation to improve so that our Customers can come back to visit us and be surprised.See you soon.Best regards.
