I have continued to visit New Shanghai over the years because their dumplings are amazing!! However the service just gets worse and worse and I will not return. Most staff speak little english, appear quite abrupt and rude and are constantly forgetting orders or making errors on the bill. Wait times are lengthy and quite often I will have finished my dish before my partner even gets his. We have had lots of issues over the years, from uncooked meat to receiving the wrong food or just not getting half our orders.This place needs new management and staff before i will return again.Dear Mel, thank you for your review. Been getting take away from this restaurant many times over the years and the food is always very good. They can get quite busy so be prepared (on occasion) for a bit of a wait when you go to pick it up - even after phoning your order through. Haven't tried eating in although it appears very popular. Prices not the cheapest but not over the top either. Good selection of the standard Chinese plus a few extra's.

From the outside it looked a little plain and sterile but ventured in as there were quite a few tables taken and upon entering knew the diners were local so that is normally a good sign. One of the young girls who served us appeared to be very inexperienced and would benefit from learning from the other girl working with her who was way more efficient and in control. The food was very tasty and quite generous in size. The pork rib cutlets in plum sauce were extremely good. The prices were very reasonable and we bought BYO and were not charged corkage.

Such a great menu, and they even deliver to the local area! While I've never set foot in the venue, their service is wonderful (on the phone, and when delivered). Local delivery has never taken more than a half hour (even on their busiest nights), and we order A LOT! Generous servings, fresh ingredients, not greasy or heavy. Generally delicious, no matter what you order.Give them a try!!

Excellent food and tremendous value. If looking for Asian food in this part of the 'burbs, highly recommended. At times can be noisy but that is part of the alive, authentic atmosphere. Often frequented by Asian students who enjoy the food. BYO. Tariff is moderate, prices reasonable--effective combination for a most enjoyable meal. Do recommend a booking.

This restaurant was recommended to us, and we were not disappointed. An extensive menu gave plenty of choice and we went with Vietnamese fillet steak, Grilled chicken with ginger and shallot salsa, and stir fried vegetables. The chicken was particularly good, but all dishes were enjoyable. We will definitely be back here.

I like this place for good asian food, I normally just get a lunch special for $8.50 from their lunch menu to eat in the evening it is great quality for the price, one day I will eat inside and order from the main menu
