We are offering special holiday packages year round, including huskysafaries, scooter safaries, Christmas Holidays, cross country skiing etc. for winter. At the summertime most popular activites are bearwatching, hiking along the Russian borderline, cycling, fishing, picking berries & mushrooms.Nearby the hotel is Petola Nature Centre (exhibition about the large carnivores in Finland) and Winter War Museum.In Kuhmo Village, only 3,5 km from the hotel we recommend a visit at Kuhmo Arts Centre and Juminkeko; information centre for Kalevala (our national epic) and Karelian culture.

Safe and great experience
Reviewed By 889ingosVery focused on bear photography. The whole area is kept very basic due to fit in the wild environment and not to scare away the bears. On the webpage you get detailed information what to expect in with hide and these forecasts turned out to be very precise. The hides are perfectly shaped for photography with an ok comfort level. Note that this is not a hotel room! You should come here to get in touch with wildlife and for photography - then you will get a unique an close up experience. I would come back any time. Staff was very friendly and the snack packs provided provide everything needed.

Beautiful place
Reviewed By Sara IStayed here for two nights in a small cabin. Everything was tidy and functioning, just ok for two people. They do have bigger cabins and a campsite also. Service was very friendly at all times. There were also some fireplaces, kitchen for campers and of course showers and toilets also. One very positive thing: they do recycle here. There were dedicated bins for your different types of rubbish. Would highly recommend this place and will go again.

Reviewed By jayw986Nothing to complain really. Kuhmo is a small town and the hotel is not the five-star Riu, but they are not saying it is. Friendly staff, clean cool and quiet room. Very good buffet breakfast. Motorcycle parking on the front door.

Good value for money
Reviewed By elmaveeGood place unless you want luxury. Very quiet at night. Close to everything there is to see in Kuhmo. There is a kitchen for guests use and the nearest supermarket is only 180m away. Some rooms have refigerators. The host was very helpful when we asked for something.
