Known for its authentic Northern Italian cuisine, Armani's restaurant features a fresh, sophisticated design and an atmosphere ideal for a romantic dinner for two, a get-together with friends or an upscale business function. With floor-to-ceiling windows
First time for my wife and I at Armani's at the top of the Grand Hyatt. Yes, spectacular view looking out west towards Clearwater. Yes, live piano music. But I was expecting an amazing dinner, and I left a bit disappointed (whichj I will explain at the end).Note: We've eaten at Oyster Catchers on several occasions (also on the Grand Hyatt property) and we love it. We came with another couple on a Thursday evening. We were seated next to the window, so we had a lovely view, although the weather did not cooperate until the very end.We started with their delicious sourdough bread with a very interesting dipping sauce. We ordered a bottle of wine and had two appetizers, one with crabmeat and the other grilled artichokes (I believe). Both were very nice. Our dinners included veal piccata with fried mushroom and white asiago polenta; Mariner's Seafood (lobster, clams, even baby octopus), roasted Branzino (a haddock type fish served over pickled fennel salad, and Grilled Scottish Salmon served on top of delicious black risotto.I believe everyone enjoyed their dishes, which were presented very nice. My veal was good, but not as tender as I would have liked. We did do dessert and coffee (cannaloni, tiramisu). Why was I disappointed? We started our meal ordering a specific bottle of wine. The waiter on returning informed us that the wine list had been updated, and that particular bottle of wine was no longer available. Apparently either we were not give the updated wine list or they did not have it available. That started our meal on a somewhat sour note. Then during the meal we ordered a second but different specific bottle of wine. This time the waiter returned telling us that it was not in stock. Our friends had ordered each of the bottles of wine for specific reasons. And twice we had to go with something else. Was this the end of the world? Of course not. But it was less than expected. Our waiter tried to do a good job with us, but it just never clicked. I don't know if the issues with the wine threw him for a loop, or what. We otherwise were very pleasant with him.Bottom line. Armani's was nice, but not terrific. Unless someone invites us and picks up the tab, I doubt we will return.Dear kweilbacher2010:Thank you so much for your thoughtful review> We apologize for the issues with the wine and service. While not an excuse, we did undergo a management change recently, so we have been adapting to the transition. If you would, please allow us the opportunity to reach out and send you something to makeup for this shortfall in service. Walked over from the Hilton hotel. Wood burning oven cooked pizza in only a few minutes. Pizzas showed up before the drinks did. Server Alex(female I think)was absolutely horrible. Piss poor attitude and never stopped by table to check on us. This is only the 3rd time in my 48 years on earth that I didnât leave a tip. If I left a tip, it would be for Alex to get a personality.

Relying on TripAdvisor reviews, we stopped in for dinner. So glad we did! Wonderful! The lasagna with sliced meatballs was fantastic. Huge Portion! The steamed mussels appetizer were equally delicious and plentiful. Wifeâs shrimp pasta was fabulous! Nice selection of wine. The service was simply outstanding! Friendly, casual, not loud. This restaurant has the ambiance of an authentic local Italian cafe. We shall return!

We had the Grouper & Veal Piccati with Strawberry Salad (my wife---who HATES salad---said it was delicuous) & Broccoli. Incredible taste & great portions. Considering, we are both Celiacs, & we got there at 10:50 PM, it was a wonderful meal. Incredible service, good wine, & our only regret was no GF desert. Wish they'd had GF pasta, but it was still a very fine meal. A bit noisy, playing music WAY loud, but we found a quieter area away from bar. Highly Recommended!
