My husband and I are travelling the area from canada and we stopped at this restaurant upon recommendation from our hosts at the hotel. Really nice food and great service. The total price was 28 euros for a bottle of water, soup of the day, salad, pork dish, and wild hare dish. Plenty of food and good quality. Would definitely recommend this charming spot for some good local food.

We found this restaurant whilst traveling from Guarda to Evora. This was a great find in a very small village called Valhelhas. The restaurant only has about 10 tables and all the food is freshly cooked and delicious local dishes. The wine list is extensive and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant is about 6 miles outside Belmonte. However, it had the highest rating of any restaurant in the area. When I got there I found out why. It is in an old stone building and has a public parking area out front with plenty of free parking. The man who seemed to be the owner fell all over himself to be friendly and helpful. I ordered roast pork and the piece he bought out almost covered the plate it was so large. It came with generous servings of rice, apple sauce and creamed spinach. For desert he recommended something he said was a favorite in that village. It turned out to be a generous serving of very good flan. The whole bill came to a very reasonable 21 Euros. And to top it all off, he took my credit card. It is a bit of a drive out there, but it was sure worth it. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Restaurant owners and the locals are extremely welcoming here, really pleasant & comfortable atmosphere. Dinner menu was unusually broad for Portugal & came beautifully presented with nice extras on the plate at a good price - evening menu was 12 euro for bread, olives, duck in filo pastry with potatoes, rice and salad of dressed leaves, orange & tomato rose + two beers.Would really recommend this restaurant if you're passing through!

We ate here while visiting Belmonte and waiting for the Museu Judaico nearby to open. We had veggie soups (about the only way to get any vegetables in our diet as we traveled Portugal), fish, and some fruit for dessert. The house red wine was good.

The staff is friendly and the food was delicious. We had chicken soup as starter, the weather outside was chilly so it was a perfect warm up. We had roasted lamb kid and we couldn't have made a better choice. Big portions!!! And cheap!!!Pessoal simpático e comida deliciosa. Começámos com uma recomendada canja, estando frio lá fora foi óptimo para aquecer. Depois⦠cabrito no forno⦠com batatinhas e cebolinhas⦠tão bom!!! Doses grandes e conta pequena.

Very small place ; only four tables . Staff is amazingly courteous . One feels like eating at Mom's kitchen. We had the Fio de Azeite Plate. Serves 2; grilled veal, beef, chicken and shrimps with French fries and green salad. Highly recommend " requeijada " for dessert. Nice place to stop at lunch time in Belmonte!

We ate here because we were staying at the pousada, but you should eat here whether or not you are. Its food and ambience both combined to give us a great evening. I had an incredible rack of lamb, which would have been outstanding at any big city gourmet restaurant.
