While visiting family, our daughter-in-law recommended we go to Yukimi for the grill. She'd never had teppanyaki but had been told about the place and wanted to try it. It is an unassuming little shopping center restaurant and was uncrowded when we arrived at about 6 pm on a Sunday evening. We were all seated immediately at a grill. Our son passed on the teppanyaki and ordered sushi; said the dragon rolls were terrific and the other stuff was good too.The rest of us ordered various combinations of filet mignon, sirloin, shrimp, and chicken. The chef was friendly and personable, but not overly so. He double-checked to be sure he had the order straight and asked those who ordered steak how well they wanted it done. He was skilled with his knife and utensils and put on a good show, but no jokes and not as fancy as some. There was little egg spinning, no shrimp tossing, nothing flipped into his hat or pocket, but he did include a well-done fiery onion volcano that impressed the grandkids. We all thought the meats and veggies were well prepared. The vegetables were al dente, just like my wife and I like, but some in our group thought they should have been cooked more. The soup and salad were just fine. No sake or plum wine starters and no desserts were included in the dinners like other places often do. Still, that was no big deal because the Yukimi is very inexpensive for a teppanyaki grill.

We used to occasionally come here on Sunday afternoons with friends. We recently came here on a Saturday night and the difference was startling. When we've been here when the sun is shining they were usually busy but not slammed. After sunset on our Saturday night experience every table was in use, people that had been through the cafeteria line getting their food were waiting for a table and a large crowd waiting to work their way through the cafeteria line. It all reminded me of the manic crowds at Disneyland! The wait staff were hustling trying to cycle everyone through the process and didn't have the time to speak with their customers.Would I go again? Yes, but only in the afternoons when they're not crazy busy. Despite the unnecessary hassles, the food is very good. In the cafeteria line you get to choose which meat, if any, you want. There are a few choices of noodles, several veggies and a mind numbingly large choice of cooking oils and flavors. When we were going through the cafeteria line we saw many people piling so many noodles into their bowl that the noodles were spilling out of the bowl onto the floor. You also get a cup of soup and rice. The price for what was essentially just two bowls of noodles and some rice? $31The difference between going in the afternoon and in the evening literally is the the difference between night and day. Go for lunch.

Really great food. Ate here after seeing reviews. I was not disappointed. The whole menu looked good. Ending up having waitress pick my order. Had shrimp veggies and noodles. Can't remember name just #46 on menu. Had fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce. I am stuffed and satisfied. If you are craving thai. This place is great. You will not be disappointed.

The food here is excellent. The service left something to be desired. Once our food arrived, our waitress never came by to ask us how things were. She also never smiled. It wasn't until after lunch that we got any kind of smile and interaction out her and not until she was boxing our food to take home. We hope she was just having a bad day, because the food here is very good.

We never know what to order at a Thai place, so we both had the Pad Thai. The food was excellent and far more than we could eat at one siting. The price was really reasonable and they gave us free desserts (I don't know if that's routine--this was our first visit)
