Absolutely overrated and overpriced. Worst steakhouse I’ve ever eaten at. Prices are insane. Very limited menu. Should have spent less on the decor and more in the food or better chef. The Lodge is a 20 star compared to this ridiculous place. Service was mediocre for trying to be a high class steakhouse. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Ate lunch here and it was ok. Loved the indoor-outdoor seating option. I had the Club Melt and it was very good. My husband had the BLT and he said it was ok. Started off with the Fried Pickles and again, just ok. Would we eat here again, probably not.

We had high hopes for the Gem. My black & blue steak was nice and tender, my wife's New York Strip was not (not terrible, but not good/great by any means). Service was slow. There was an argument going on in the kitchen. Distracting. The baked potato was small. The worse, though, the vegetable medley was from a frozen box. For a steak place? How hard is it to saute up some veggies?!?!?!?Thank you for taking the time to write this response. The behavior that you witnessed during your time with us is unacceptable and we apologize for the distraction. It is being addressed. Best, Mineral Palace Hotel & Casino

They had an amazing buffet set up for Thanksgiving. We stayed in the hotel for the holiday. So it was so nice on a cold snowy day to just go downstairs and have an awesome meal. We had a hard time deciding where to eat for Thankgiving. This was the only place we could get actual reservations. Other places only had a waiting list. Which I thought was wierd. We ate at Mavericks twice, the service was great as was the atmosphere. It's in a casino so don't complain about the noise. The gunslinger rolls as an appetizer are the bomb, i'm looking for a recipe for them so I can try and duplicate them. I had steaks both nights and they were great as were accouterments. My wife had a good steak one night and a pork chop the other night that was terrible and that is only reason for not giving 5 stars. Next time in town we will eat here again.Hello! Thank you for sharing this review with us. I am pleased that your meals with us were tasty; the gunslinger rolls are an absolute staple! I am sorry to hear that your wife disliked the bacon wrapped pork chops! I will pass this review along to our Chef. We also hope you will visit us again next time you are in town and appreciate your patronage. Thank you for the great review!
