The place is very well located. Next to the beach. Service is prompt, fast with very friendly waiters. Food was amazing, taste delicious. They have good option of cocktails)But, the biggest minus is - they donât accept credit card.You have to walk like 5 min one way to search the ATM, pay the unusual high fee for 100⬠to take out.But at least, barman (friendly as well) give us like 5⬠discount and two small bottles of water for free.Always have some cash... we will))

Una cena " leggera " ma con piatti scelti con cura. In attesa del piatto principale arriva un bel vassoio colmo di vongole appetitose e profumate. Diciamo subito che non considero questo piatto eccelso in Portogallo quando invece del prezzemolo usano " l'odiato " Coriandolo. Ma tant'è, questo è un problema tutto mio e di gusto personale. Comunque le vongole erano grandi, freschissime e la presenza del coriandolo non mi ha impedito di farle fuori tutte.Ad accompagnare la cena una buona bottiglia di Amnesia bianco, secco e di intenso profumo. Un vino Alentejano da provare. Ed ecco che arriva un fantastico Zapata ( granchio ) , ottimamente preparato: una festa.Il tutto accompagnato da piccoli crostini ben imburrati.Una ottima cena ad un prezzo assolutamente umano !!Da ritornare.

This local restaurant has got an amazing view on the river/ocean, which is perfect for a romantic dinner with the sunset. With regard to the food, we had the usual olives, cheese and octopus salad as starters and cataplana de bacalhau as main dish. Everything was great, but I have to say that this fish soup (cataplana) was exceptional! The service was also very good!

Haven't been here for a couple of years but have to ask myself why because it provides a great selection of seafood at reasonable prices. A nice atmosphere with an open fire and good service.We had the paella and a grouper cataplana with prawns and clams. Both were excellent. Good choice of wines as well. Dish of the day starters were also good.So well worth eating here if you are in Milfontes.

Weâve tried shrimps with garlic and oil, they were a good size and tasty, but a bit too oily. For main we had grilled squids and bordalesa squids, everything was good and fresh ! We asked the wine from the house that was not so good, skip it ! Ask a good wine or a beer !

We had a lovely table in a lovely setting, looking right out over the ocean on a sunny evening. A great start. They had only a few fish left, and we chose a sizeable one that my wife and I shared. They had a sardine pate on the menu, which I thought would be interesting to try while we waited. A disappointment: it was a commercially processed and packaged little cube of sardine pate that I could have bought off the shelf of a grocery store. The butter likewise came in a plastic package with a tin foil peel-back top. The salad with the fish was a basic bed of lettuce with sliced onion and tomato, which I dressed with the commercial grocery store olive oil and vinegar. My wife's french fries were of MacDonald's quality and style. I am glad they do excellent fish, and have an excellent location, but there is little attention to making the whole meal a memorable experience. I wish them luck.

We came to the restaurant in hope to have a nice dinner at sunset. Fortunately, they had only a reservation for 20 or for 21:30. We picked the latest time spot and completed tremendous hiking along the Atlantic coast at sunset. Otherwise we wouldnât see anything from the terrace as it looks directly at the parking lot. The next disappointment was the food. We skipped extra expensive tapas and decided to go with lemon rice with sea bass and clams. We were served with a pot of rice soup with a bit of fish and maybe 8 clams. That for 40 â¬!! The day before we ate a huge cataplana with plenty of fish and clams in the city center of Faro exactly for the same price. You will not get sate without eating the whole rice which is astonishing for the price. Generally, the place is too expensive and unjust expensive for its offer for Vila Nova de Milfontes. Spend rather time on the cliffs at the sunset and go eat somewhere else

Wonderfully atmospheric top quality rustic restaurant located in a narrow side street off the heart of this lovely coastal town, Tasca do Celso serves up outstanding meat and fish dishes and some fine Alentejo wines to accompany them. My sea bream was quite simply the best I have tasted, while my wife was just as enthusiastic about her tuna with a twist. Truly special was her verdict. Service was first class. Our waiter Francisco was an absolute credit to the owners - polite, charming and so helpful. Do not miss out should you be afforded the opportunity to visit. I am confident you will not be disappointed. Booking absolutely essential. Such is its reputation - and totally justified - they were turning would-be customers away in spades.John W, Swansea
