New York style pizza is right on. We watched the cook hand toss the crusts.Good show.At lunch there are specials, subs included, but this visit they were out of sub rolls. Mom likes the eggplant parm sub, but this visit she got a healthy almost dinner sized portion. Delicious and the sauce was too.Lunch time gets a little crowded, so come as early as you can. Opens at 11.Service is great.

Although TripAdvisor places Papa John's Pizza places at 4496 State Route 725, Bellbrook, OH 45305, Papa John's Pizza is really in Centerville at the busy intersection, which includes the battery store. Papa John's Pizza makes a great TV commercial, but an average pizza.Papa John's Pizza is carry-out and delivery, and that part is fine.We do not like a pizza edge to lack ingredients, and in our view, Papa John's Pizza lacks the âgoods.â We do not want to pay $10.00 for an average pizza, but lots of folks do.Papa John's Pizza TV ads are proof of a thriving business. This is NOT the pizza that we care to consume.

Donatoâs Pizza is located at 4461 Feedwire Road in Centerville (937.439.4222.) Donatoâs Pizza is located in a small strip center on the east side of Wilmington Pike. Whipp Road changes to Feedwire Road at the intersection of Wilmington Pike.Donatoâs Pizza is a franchise of a large corporation. This location is a near a busy intersection, and there is a separate entrance to ensure safe parking. The landmarks are Cracker Barrel and Home Depot.Visit the Donatoâs Website for âpossible coupons.â At various times Donatoâs will offer a mailer that provides an ad for âa speciality pizzaâ for one dollar more that a regular pizza. It would be great if the Donatoâs employees bothered to be informed of the corporate ads. A recent take away phone call required seven minutes for the manager and the server to figure out what the corporate special was. Get this: on entering the small franchise, there is a HUGE poster of the special! Guys, get with it!We like the franchise, and the web site is in huge need of a âmakeover.â The menu is not descriptive, and does not include accurate jpgs of the food products. This location is very clean, air conditioned, and busy with phone orders.The manager and server are not well trained and oblivious as we enter the storefront. This provides time to observe a large TV, and a few small tables. We view this location as a carry out rather than âeat-inâ pizza establishment. There is zero ambience, and we cannot imagine any locals actually taking a table. Perhaps a family taking a break from I-675 might eat in, and perhaps the young might gather for a date, but this is not a location for a date night with your wife.The pizza: we elect the original hand tossed crust and order the âlarge carry out.â The franchise has got the sauce and crust right. We order âThe Worksâ for $15.00. âThe Worksâ includes pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, peppers, onions, on cheese and sauce.The pizza is actually very good, and we rate it above the local brands, and higher than several other chain brands. We like the crust and sauce, and we like that the ingredients actually are âedge to edge.âCenterville pizza competition is great, and thus far, we favor another pizza carry out that is just a stoneâs throw south of Donatoâs.

We are fans of Godfathers.Looking forward to a visit to Godfathers in western Maryland.Godfathers has a superb training program for the servers.The Wilmington Pike location is a small carryout, and often families are enjoying a pizza on site.We recommend a Super Specialty Pizza. We like the Super Combo.This is not a New York Pizza, and is very similar to a Chicago pizza. Close enough, that we do not have to drive to Pizza Uno's.

At breakfast, my wife announces that the plans for todayâs perfect weather involve estate ground's attention.My question, âcan we talk about this is pointless.â Nevertheless, there shall be league tennis in the P.M.My wifeâ implication that todayâs lunch will be take-away, and that she wants to be âsurprised.âToday it will be Fettuccine Molto al dente.Fazoliâs is having a very off day today.The servers are in gleeful conversation in the kitchen, and for ten minutes. No servers = no orders. Where is management?Fazoliâs prepares a decent pasta and sauce.My wife is happy, and we do manage to accomplish her goals.

Tis a glorious day.Cassanoâs Pizza King has great company of several international food ârestaurantsâ in a small strip shopping center as one departs Centerville and enters Bellbrook.We have been Cassanoâs fans for nearly 50 years, and recall disappointment when we compared Cassanoâs Pizza King with Colasessano's Pizza And Pepperoni Rolls in the college town of Fairmont, WV.Nevertheless, Cassanoâs Pizza King has a well earned reputation in Dayton, Ohio.Cassanoâs Pizza King is promoting an anniversary special of a large, deluxe pizza for $15.99. And there is a central call center, which we like. We requested the hand tossed, and that reduced the price to $12.99. We recommend the hand tossed pizza.I asked how long Cassanoâs Pizza King has been at this Bellbrook location, and the answer is three years. Cassanoâs Pizza King is between a Mexican restaurant and a Sportâs Bar. There is ample parking.Cassanoâs Pizza King has several small window booths, and a very attractive party room. Cassanoâs Pizza King is new, well managed, and offered a good product.Dayton has many pizza houses, and we tend to prefer other brands. We we disappointed with the paucity of ingredients on this pizza, and found the product to be over-priced.The crust is excellent, the small serving of sauce and cheese is excellent, and while the pizza is ok, we can think of 10 other national and local brands that are much better.

´Tis a Grand day.It is the new sign at Rapid Fire Pizza advertising Pepperoni Sticks that grabs our attention.Given a year of operation Rapid Fire Pizza is firmly entrenched in the Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area pizza scene.We notice a very young parent and child clientele for the New York style pizza.And there are several different âfast pizzaâ franchises that are operating in the Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area. It certainly is a time of âpizza wars.âFive young folks are involved in building our made to order pizzas, and my wife judges the results as OK.Pepperoni Sticks are ok; however, we are Old School, and suggest a visit to Fairmont, WV for true pepperoni buns.Perhaps, we shall soon visit the Oregon District to sample the new pepperoni buns.

Visited Doubledayâs this past Friday Nite with another couple. Somewhat surprised that there was no wait for a booth. Our waiter, Matt was completely âon itâ. Great service. Each of us ordered something different. I ordered French onion soup and the Meatloaf sandwich. The French onion soup was just ok, the broth was a bit wimpy. The meatloaf sandwich was extremely good. You need to be hungry. I like sweet flavors, so the ketchup glaze they use on the meatloaf was very good. We always have great meals here every time we eat here.

Thanks to the incredibly helpful folks at Pies and Pints, we were able to host our son and now daughter-in-laws wedding rehearsal dinner with carry out "pies" which were incredible and disappeared! The bride and groom insisted that this was their food of choice and could not have been more pleased!! Okay, maybe if we'd had a few more "pies"!!Thanks for the awesome review, Peggy! We're so happy for the opportunity to have been a part of their special day :)
