Port Hueneme (/waɪˈniːmi/ wy-NEEM-ee) is a small beach city in Ventura County, California surrounded by the city of Oxnard and the Santa Barbara Channel. The name derives from the Spanish spelling of the Ventureño phrase wene me, meaning "Resting Place". Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo explored this area and the adjacent Channel Islands in October 1542. The town's name was officially changed to Port Hueneme in 1939 and was incorporated March 24, 1948.

Don't understand the only review written here for TA...so Ingles por favor. I just came from this wonderful little restaurant. Small owner run storefront place in a small strip mall with excellent food, nice wine & beer list and lots of local regulars. it looks brand new but the owner says shes been there for almost 10 years. Salmon Creek is the house wine-always found it to be more than satisfactory. Of course she begins with light crispy multicolor chips & very tasty salsa (I would judge to be homemade). For a couple $$'s add soup or salad to go with the main dish, rice & beans. I had the albondigas (meatball) soup which I would say is also homemade & excellent-lots of celery & 2 good size meatballs. I also had the ;carnitas (my favorite dish) with beans & a dab of rice (don't care much for rice) The tortillas were very good as well. All in all I will be returning & would love to visit their very reasonably priced (and i would guess is also delicious) Sunday Brunch. .

All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our choices. I had an excellent Pescado (fish) tostada and vegetarian taco ala carte. Those two items were a complete meal.My companions made more than a complete meal out of the nachos.Even though avocados are very expensive right now, the restaurant was not stingy in providing ample avocados and guacamole.The restaurant was clean and well maintained. The restrooms were clean and well stocked.Parking was in the lot immediately out front. Our waitress was as gorgeous as Miss America. Her picture was on the front of the menu and she is just as beautiful now as when the picture was taken!The restaurant has many tables, able to handle large crowds.We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this establishment.

Had lunch, lots of items to choose from. Picked beef chimichanga and it was fairly good. Ordered Albondigas soup for $2.25 more, and it was good. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. It was about half filled to capacity. Bathroom was clean. I will return to check out other menu items.

I get steak or shrimp. Sometimes i get the quacamole or pico de gallo. It is all delish and the value is great too. You can eat on the water across the street.

Not one to patronize restaurants in strip malls, I can't begin to express the surprising pleasure of Los Arcos restaurant (this is NOT part of the chain restaurants!). This place is family run, and the joy of fresh, not pre-prepared food is tasted in every bite. The fresh guacamole to order is generous in amount and very delicious as is the table salsa (unlimited amounts!). The menu is diverse but doesn't go on for pages so they can quickly deliver quality meals. Definitely will return!

My family and I ordered a large amount of food for take out, and they absolutely did not disappoint! Food was excellent, the staff was awesome, and the service was fast! We ordered many different items from the menu, and everyone was happy. I will definitely be back.

We stopped by after a few hours on the beach. Food was good, fast service, & perfect location on the beach. We sat inside but there is seating outside if you prefer. Much to choose from on the menu. I really enjoyed this place!

Many great things to say about Body Fuel. I personally liked the décor; the restaurant is so clean you could eat off the floor ! The food was excellent, we had the BBQ chopped chicken salad and the pulled pork sandwich. Both very generous portions and both very good. Enjoyed talking to the staff there, all very friendly. When in the area, it will be our casual go-to eating place.Hi Jan, Thank you so much for coming into Body Fuel Bistro! Well there were 8 of us in the family gathering including a 7 month year old who need a sling for the carrier she was strapped into. We we seated right away and the sling was brought immediately fresh chips and salsa was placed on the table enough baskets and salsa for everyone to reach. Water was provided as requested and the staff was highly attentive to our needs. Our water glasses, chip bowls and salsa was constantly refreshed and the food was served hot and delicious. It was a great atmosphere with music and the sound of soft conversations in the background. Our family was able to converse and eat as it were were in one of our own homes.
