They have updated both the restaurant and the menu. They definately have the best menu in Naantali with variety of different servings available. We had fresh oysters - delicious, octopus -ok, scallops - taste less. As main courses we had lamb - delicious, tartar - visually superb. Desearts we also good. Snickari is definately worth the visit.

Pohjankulma is authentic Finnish buffet restaurant in old school (my father used to go in that school). The building is well renovated and has nice feeling. The buffet served on weekends is great and has plentifull of different traditional Finnish fishes available. Sometime the warm dishes include specialities like moose or deer (mostly serve traditional meat).Pohjankulma is definately worth a visit for traditional Finnish dinner.

I wrote year ago that "charming restaurant in beautiful Finnish archipelago" and that last part is still true, but unfortunately that first part has changed. Every year we visit this family runned restaurant/hotel and hope that owners can turn this into profitable business. Unfortunately owners have changed several times in last 5 or so years and after our latest visit, it's hard to think that we will come back. Terrace was almost empty when we came, bigger party was leaving and female owner/manager was talking with them and didn't even say hello to us. In table next to us was half eated hamburger, ashtray, empty glasses etc. for a long time, despite waitress and male owener/manager passed by several times. It's understandable that when you run a restaurant on an island, that some drinks or food ingredients run out. But it was almost embarrassing that every drink/wine we ordered was finished. And when I finally found one, waitress bought me wrong wine but still charged that more expensive one! Why not print paper or write in chalk board that currently we only have this and this. Then came our meals. There were 4 of us, that are used to eat outside almost daily and we all were absolutely disappointed. My ribs were so chewy, that I have to use knife to get a little bite. My wife's cold fish platter didn't look or taste fresh, my friend's chicken wings didn't have any sauce and one of us got his asparagus to his platter 5min later, when "chef" brought it BARE foot. That chef was the only one by the way who said "I apologize". So 4 unfinished portions later, we paid our bill. No discounts, sorrys or bye, see you next times..

We enjoyed buffet dinner in Le Soleil restaurant. Classical cold smoked salmon, baltic herrings and Indian style warm and very mildly spicy potato-vegetable dish and pork dish were tasty. Also sweet desserts got our attention as they had nice variety, looked good and many were made of chocolate, which is always great. Service was friendly, attentive and professional. Popular restaurant in big spa hotel located in Naantali suburban area ab. 15 minutes walk from Naantali wooden old town.

Located about 4-5km away from City Centre and Old Town, in the middle of local neighbourhood. But still definitely worth of visit, because their lunch is one of the best in town. For 10,50€ you can choose from 3 different options, which includes starter salad buffet and coffee for dessert. They use local ingredients, so you can trust that meat, fish, veggies etc. are coming from nearby and that's why everything tastes so fresh and good. It's not a small place and they have little terrace too, but place gets real crowded, which means that customers are willing to come especially for their lunch. Little shop area too, where they have local flours, coffee, drinks from micro breweries etc.

Uusi Kilta

Starters and location were good, service and mains were the reason why you should go somewhere else. When we arrived, the place was half full. We ordered our food and drinks, and the waitress kindly informed us that having a bottle of wine would be cheaper than three individual glasses. We decided to have the bottle. Our starters were very good, although the snails were a bit pricey for the overall taste and outlook. Then things started to go poorly. As we had waited our mains for 40 minutes, and having seen later arrivals already having theirs, one of the waiters told us that they had made a mistake and our food had not gone to the kitchen queue. There was no apology, only the statement that our food was delayed because of the mistake. After nearly 1 hour of wating, our mains finally arrived. The arctic char was good, but the accompanying foam was extremely salty and almost ruined the portion. The minute steak portions were swimming in grease and were waaaay too expensive for the quality (simiar quality would be 40% cheaper at a gas station). After mains, the waiter asked if we would like to have some dissert. I kindly told him that the 1 hour wait for the mains without any apology was not encouraging us to have any, he was still unable to apologise for the mistake. We asked to have the bill.Once the bill came, we were quite surprised that the wine bottle was over 10 euros more expensive than the three glasses would have been. As we mentioned to the waitress that this is not according to our discussion, she was clearly annoyed and told that if she had misled us, she can correct the bill. She finally charged us the price of three individual glasses and we left the restaurant.I can unfortunately say that our nice evening was quite well ruined by the service and food quality. Luckily a place nearby was able to give excellent service with the dessert.
