What a great change from the island fruit barn to a cafe!!â¤ï¸ The whole experience was awesome, food awesome as well!! Love the seating, friendly service & again great food!! I had a pie & a fresh hot cross bun! Yum!! Well worth a stop before getting onto the barge home!!

My mouth was watering as I'd heard how great the fresh prawns right off the trawler daily are.Sadly when we stayed for a mini break there was a six week ban on prawn fishing to allow for breeding season.The young woman serving was honest and upfront about this and I liked her honesty. She even peeled a prawn for us so we could try a 'snap frozen one'. Still delicious so we bought some.Can't wait to return to try the fresh ones.Good Evening,Thank you for your review, we appreciate your understanding and I'm glad you still enjoyed our 'Snap Frozen Ones' that were still locally and recently caught just before the closure. Unfortunately we can't go fishing all the time, I'm sure you understand, I mean we have to allow species to recover right? 6 out of 52 weeks a year, I think it's the least we could do for such beautiful seafood. We look forward to you visiting again and getting try our fresh ones that have literally been swimming in the door since Thursday.Take Care and Safe travels.

We ordered two fish meals consisting of fish, chips, and salad. The prices are reasonable. The serving size is large, and the quality of the meal was just superb. The fish was beautifully cooked. We loved it. Plenty of free parking behind Woolies across the road, and indoor or outdoor dining is available.

I have lost count of how many times I have eaten here. I go with friends and family and itâs seems to have become our âgo toâ place. The service, location, menu choices and food are excellent. I hope it never changes. And, if you never eat anything ever again it has to be the mushroom and asparagus risotto, it is to die for!Thank you Laura, for your kind words and for taking the time to review us. Doug and Pearl is an Australian restaurant that is a local treasure. We love celebrating milestones such as anniversaries, birthdays and Valentines Day with a visit to Doug and Pearl. The food is amazing, especially the Lamb Shoulder for two ($70) which is served with mint jelly, gravy and your choice of two side dishes from their accompaniments section of the main menu and a complimentary glass of white or red house wine. Absolutely delicious! Thought, based on 4.5 star reviews, this place would be alright, despite getting told very curtly the other day (when getting takeaway coffee) that they don't do skim milk. Almond, yes. But skim! But put that experience behind me and tried again today. We got there at 1pm. Half the limited menu was gone. That pretty much left eggs (only poached or fried) or cakes. And they came like that... Two eggs on toast. No trimmings, no nothing. Plonked there. The service was half friendly and half sullen. The price was nearly $80 for three serves of eggs, drinks and two small cakes. The cake pastry was stale. I'm giving the place two stars for the good coffee and the amazing view, but you couldn't pay us to return. Yuck.

Booked for a Sunday night for Fatherâs Day for 7pm and had only 1 serving of calamari left and no lemon meringue left. On arrival not a pleasant welcome because we arrived with 2 Prams even though I mentioned I wanted to book a table with 2 high chairs but depending on our babies we may use the Prams in place of the high chairs. The food was good but wouldnât come again even though there isnât much choice of dining on Stradbroke island.

On our first visit to Cleveland, the Courthouse was recommended by friends. We were very happy with our choice. Everything was fantastic. All of our meals were delicious. The service was great and the wines were not expensive. A beautiful landmark with a wonderful history. We hope to return next time we visit Queensland
