Reviewed By 295fionacFantastic week at this lovely hotel. Definitely a slightly older crowd, very few children. Suited us. Rooms spacious and housekeeping superb. Gardens and pool area well kept. We dined in both the Madeira and Falesia restaurant - staff are amazing in both. Breakfast excellent with lots of choice. Highly recommend and must commend the GM in the running of this hotel.

The Patio Suite Hotel promises to be the perfect place for those looking for a different space for a family or friends holidays. The refurbished apartments are spacious with nature-inspired décor and a differentiating concept. This difference is made immediately in the lobby area: a spacious open space flows into the food court, where you can find several food corners, restaurants and terrace. The connection with outdoor and climate of the region are the most determining factors in the Hotel, the south pool terrace was completely refurbished. The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools. The apartments, with one or two bedrooms, have been completely refurbished and now have a more modern decoration, all in light, neutral and green tones, and in keeping the connection with the region where this hotel is located. With generous areas, balconies and equipped kitchens, these apartments are ideal for family travellers.

Reviewed By MW40After delays at Manchester airport and Jet2 keeping us waiting 1.5 hours for a transfer, it was wonderful to arrive at the Tivoli Hotel. One look at the view from street level across the hotel bar and to the swimming pool and coastline, we knew we had made the right decision. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is very good, the waiters/resses are friendly and efficient. The pool is cold, but with the great weather, it just about gets away with it. The cafe at the pool serves excellent food, the service can be a little slow as there are often queues but the waiters do their best to please. The Sky Bar has fantastic views, it is a shame that it doesn't stay open past 9pm in May/June as they turn the music down and close the bar, if it played louder/livelier music till 10pm or later, it would attract more people. There are plenty of places to lounge in the sun, if you want to get away from the pool. I saw a couple of examples of guests with bad attitudes and was impressed with how the staff dealt with them, for example people on honeymoon cannot expect waiters to save them the best table at the front with the sea view everyday, guests like this spoil the atmosphere for everyone else. I cannot really fault the Tivol hotel, but just offer a few suggestions: keep the prices more reasonable at Sky Bar and more people would drink there and for longer; give reception staff better training so they know everything about the rooms, the hotel and surrounding area, run Yoga classes every morning on the grass outside, maybe offer fruit instead of chocolates as part of the turn-down service; finally go back to keys as those cards just take up too much of your holiday getting them re-programmed. In summing up, wonderful, superb, highly recommend.

"Palm Bar" is serving those fantastic cocktails and the rest of the refreshing drinks during the high summer months.All the Golfers don't need to go far. There is a Golf Course next to Falesia Hotel and Vilamoura - with its best Golf Courses in Europe - is only up to 15 minutes drive from the Falesia Hotel.And if you want to have much bigger selection of shops, restaurants, bars, discos and any other entertainment, it is only between 5 and 8.5 Km to get to the capital of Portuguese tourism - Albufeira.If you are after complete relaxation you do not need to look any further. The food is very good with so much choice at breakfast and dinner. The drinks are high quality with a great selection. The rooms are spacious, as a group of three adults, we were especially grateful for a very comfortable third bed in the room. The hotel offers such a high professional standard and should be proud! The staff stand out as they are highly professional in every regard. They're also friendly (and some are real characters)!! Ola Carlos (× 2), Philippe, Joselio, Ricardo, Hernan, Eduard, Cristina, Artur...... The spa is great and enhances an already positive experience. Obrigada Jenny. We came across so many returners (including a couple who were on their 16th trip)! All in all, a lovely quiet place for a relaxed holiday. ? Obrigada a todos.

First family holiday with 9 month old.
Reviewed By JEDD1302Just returned from a beautiful week in Portugal our first family holiday with 9 month old baby. Travelled with Tui package deal. Transfer from airport on arrival straightforward approx an hour no other pick ups. Check in was simple. No arrival drinks like previous reviews mentioned. Used the screens to book restaurants although timings were all quite late in evening, with the little one we needed to eat earlier, Tui rep advised asked at reception. Receptionist got us booked at all 3 resturants at 6.30/7pm perfect time for us with baby. Complex and grounds all lovely, nice buzzing happy family friendly atmosphere, high chairs in all restaurants, childrens play area. Splash pool not much shade and parasols have no fittings so not able to creAte shade for little ones. Hotel room standard family room, lovely rooms modern fresh clean and comfortable, cot made up on arrival for baby which was great, comfy mattress for cot better than standard travel cot, and was given a baby bath for the week (ask at reception) Small rooms, not much space to store clothes / unpack, no robes or slippers, but it was fine for us. Food is repetitive not much choice, but I think this is expected in Europe all inclusive. Piri piri resturant and surf and turf make a nice change to the buffet. Snack bar for ice creams / cakes good. Staff are polite and happy to give you anything on request, baby fruit pouches / yogurts. Not loads of food choice for baby who is still weaning, we took baby snacks and pouches. Beach a short walk away or pleasant train ride. Beach is stunning beautiful Algarve. Alvor is a lovely town with a marina and shops and restaurants. All in all we would recommend Pestana blue and would stay again, we had a great time and made lovely memories, don’t worry about the negative reviews, after all the lockdowns and covid it’s just lovely to get away again, and after all any holiday is what you make of it!

Reviewed By deanoc433One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in a while. Especially good as it’s only rated 3 star. Definitely has more to offer than a 3 star. We had a 6th floor seaview… which is a must. There really is no other view. The staff in all areas are fantastic and nothing is any trouble at all. Our bedding and towels were changed almost every day. We stayed 10 nights and had to give house keeper a few days off as rooms were spotless. The buffet breakfast was great value. Lots of daily variety. All the usual cereals, masses of fresh fruit, all the European choices of ham, eggs, cheese, pastries, croissants and the obligatory hot cooked items. Tea coffee and juices… everything unlimited. One thing to bare in mind that there was only regular milk, but we bought rice milk and just brought it down every morning. We chose on 3 occasions to also pay for the evening buffet too. Absolutely fabulous food. We spoke to the chef directly and passed on our thanks. She was chuffed. Restaurant staff were amazing too. It has a front affinity pool with plenty of sun beds. I can imagine when it’s high season you might struggle for a bed but no issues for us. Dom Jose has a private part of the beach with sunbeds there too. However, they cost €12.00 per day… 2 beds and an umbrella, same price as any other sunbed on any other part of the beach. I would have expected a cheaper price on production of my hotel key. That’s a lot of money extra especially if you can’t get a free bed at the pool. If I ever return to the area I would definitely stay here again.

They have plenty of activities, during our stay we’ve seen birds of pray show and reptiles show, bouncy castle and park activities . Hotel is extra clean and the stuff is friendly. You have a private access to the beach, beach towels are provided.

The chef made a magnificent yummy Birthday cake for him. Apartments have been modernised with new furniture and are comfortable and clean.. We have eaten in the main restaurant a few times. Food has been fantastic. Can’t wait to come back!

Small niggles which could have been resolved
Reviewed By Surreytraveller98Lovely hotel and lovely food, very limited gluten free options in comparison to other 5*hotels I’ve stayed in. Prices as you would expect in a 5* hotel. Good areas around the pools and plenty of pool towels and beds for guests. Our room was spacious, bed very comfortable and good bed linen. but the bathroom design gives very little privacy and the seals on the shower leaked making the floor dangerously slippy. Coffee machine leaked the whole time we were there in spite of three changes. Although the hotel does not know in advance if their guests smoke we were surrounded by guests smoking on their balconies which meant we couldn’t sit on ours when they were on theirs our leave our windows open. A completely smoke free area would solve this problem. Better communication between front desk and maintenance dept would resolve issues before they niggle the guests. Our room was not serviced until 3-4pm every day which was really irritating if you wished to rest before dinner. Lovely hotel but not quite the standard we were expecting.
