Very pleasant stay!

Reviewed By van_dijk12

It’s a nice guesthouse with great breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms and a lovely host. It has free on site private parking and a nice swimming pool with beach chairs and shade from the trees. It’s located about 1 km from Carvoeiro village and there’s a bus stop practically in front of the guesthouse. (For those visiting without a car) A taxi to the center of town/beach costs about €5. Price quality wise, this place is hard to beat.

The balcony view is fabulous. A great place to relax and listen to the birds. The recent rains made everything verdant and lush. Our room overlooked the valley and was adequate for our one night stay. We had dinner at the guesthouse and like other reviewers found the food to be just ok. The one night staff heats up casserole type dishes. We had the vegetarian lasagna and baked cod which was like risotto. The salad was lettuce and tomatoes. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean.

The worst place we have been in a 3 week trip

Reviewed By uiarahp

We have been traveling in Portugal and we have been to many different places. This is the worst you can get for a very high price, 120 euros a night. The shower was broken and dirt (in Corona times). There was no AC and was very small. The staff was just average.

Staying nearby we cycled here for breakfast arriving before they opened. A nice lady informed us they open at 09:00 and invited us to look around the gardens to watch her feed the goats and chickens while we waited. Lovely, thank you. We walked to the cafe at the front looking forward to a coffee with a staff member informing us the don’t open until 09:00. Surprised I glanced at the time and it was 08:59. Oh well we can cope but would have preferred something like take a seat I won’t be a moment :) Language was difficult but that is our fault not theirs. We ordered 2 coffee and two toast with butter. Service was slow. The coffee was ok but I’m surprised my teeth survived the toast. Oh my was it dry, hard and unpleasant. Still, differences accepting, we finished up and asked for the bill We were told it was €9.90 which seemed rather a lot for toast and coffee x 2. Today for example I had a cooked English breakfast ( I know but fancied one, the first one and probably the only one as we usually stick to non English and more traditional food) but it was €5 and came with one slice of toast. So I’m my mind our toast and coffees were not good value and it is not somewhere I’d recommend or return to, despite it being lovely in appearance. Although we havent tried them we did see other nearby alternatives within similar distance of the cross roads junction near the eco park where we stayed. Good luck

Holiday stay, 11 nights, 12/09/2017

This accomodation is in a very quiet location. The host 'George' is very helpful, along with his elderly mother Virginia who is a lovely little old lady, and never seems to stop. She doesn't speak English unfortunately, but was always welcoming, even though we arrived very late at night.. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was also very clean. We had a free run of the house, and could have used the kitchen if we had wanted to. Downside: Needs new and more pillows in the room. House sounds very hollow, and when a door bangs it sounds throughout the house. can be quite disturbing if someone is leaving early and you're trying to have a lie in. No TV or WIFI. But to be fair this is budget and right on the money.

This B&B is perfectly located for visiting Lagos. Close to beaches, restaurants and bars. Room was clean and breakfast was tasty. I had a unshared bathroom with my room that was located in the hallway. It came with a key so I could lock it when I left the B&B for the day. Would definitely recommend.
