I made a last-minute reservation through Expedia. Normally I go straight to the hotel, but I had some points I wanted to redeem. I paid over $600 to stay for three nights. I am a VIP gold member for Expedia and they did not honor that. It is a good hotel but not great. The moment I made my reservation with Expedia I called the hotel because they had given me a specific room in the past, and it wasn’t available on the Expedia app. The person that I spoke to told me he was trying to get me the room I had last time but he couldn’t see my reservation. So I waited until The reservation went through but then they changed everything and they said we don’t have the room anymore because the tower is closed. Next day when I came to check in all of a sudden for a certain amount of money $300 worth the room was available. It was magic, but not magic I was willing to pay for and so I didn’t get the room I wanted I am a VIP gold member for Expedia and they would not honor it they didn’t care that I tip everybody and their mother when I get here. Next time I’ll choose another hotel and that’s the end of that. I don’t sweat the small stuff, but for making an extra couple dollars they just lost a customer that comes in a week at a time and tips everybody and their mother. So shove the upgrade up your butt. It’s all good with me. The biggest mistake I did was paying for the full amount through the app of Expedia. But you live and learn

Worst Hotel Experience Ever

Reviewed By C8551YLmiguelp

English & Español (debajo) I called the hotel and asked them if they offered any special honeymoon accommodations. I was told to include a comment in my reservation mentioning that I wanted the honeymoon package. I made a reservation through the Los Tajibos website. The morning after making the reservation I called to make sure they had made a note about my request and got verbal confirmation of such. When we arrived nothing of what they had mentioned (rose petals, champagne bottle, or breakfast in bed next morning) were set up or scheduled. To makes matters even worse, the room smelt like a wet dog. I went to the front desk with my complains. To no avail I was told that there was nothing they could do and that didn’t see my request on their system. I tried to be proactive and tell them that I was willing to even pay more to find a quick solution to the matter, but I was turned down and told there was nothing they could do. To make matters even worse, I tried to use the shower later that day and the cold water was shut off making it impossible to jump in the shower because of the scorching hot water. I was told by a staff member that this may be due to the work they are doing on the new buildings. Nevertheless, at no point during my stay or to this day was I offered an apology or remediation. I spend half of the year staying in different hotels and this has been by far the worst experience and service. I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for your lounging accommodations. Los Tajibos didn’t measure up to the special occasion and didn’t even try to make up for it. I have a really hard time understanding how it is 5-star hotel is specially compared to other newer alternatives in Santa Cruz. As I side note, I also had dinner at Jardin de Asia and had to wait over 90 min to get our food after ordering. Unfortunately, this hotel has become a far cry from what it once was. FYI: I stayed in room 156 on December 30th, 2021.

2 Phenomenal Experiences!

Reviewed By Lena J

I stayed here with a friend on the front and back end of a tour out of La Paz and both experiences really blew me away. I am Marriott platinum, and the lounge was closed, but they made up for this with a welcome gift of a bottle of wine and elaborate fruit plate (my choices, there were other options). The room was upgraded and very clean, and the front desk staff answered my messages and arranged transfers and COVID tests via the app. They also printed all my boarding passes, and tried their very best to be helpful and upbeat. The offerings at this hotel, including a nice breakfast buffet, lunch in some rates, and a happy hour for elites, went well beyond my expectations. I also felt very safe on the property, had a good sleep, and enjoyed the 4th floor pool/hot tub. Definitely I would recommend them highly as an option when staying in Santa Cruz, regardless of your status.

Unexpected Overnight in Bolivia

Due to cancelled flights, we unexpectedly found ourselves guests at Hotel LP Santa Cruz Centro. We only had a few pm hours and the evening but the hotel and staff made our trip very special. We were upgraded to a suite and when we told them we wanted to experience Bolivian food they arranged a return taxi as well as advised of the best place to go during our short stay, La Case del Campo. An excellent restaurant where we had their mini buffet for two, about 12 dishes, but go there hungry. The local Bolivian beer slipped down a treat and we had an excellent evening. A huge thank you to Daniel and to Amparo for all that they did and it has opened our eyes to another Such American country that we should visit for longer.

Try to use the free shuttle service as the taxi charged us $60 Bov from the airport. It was only $30 Bol. to get all the way downtown!

We arrived at 430 am. There was a taxi waiting for us at the airport as I’d arranged (via Facebook messenger). Bit of confusion at check in as I’d paid for the room with points way in advance. Hotel clerk seemed confused as how to handle this but said we could fix in the morning and I needed to sleep. The issues was already fixed in the morning by management. The room had a nice bed, great air conditioning, hot water, and a mini bar and snacks. Only had the breakfast once and it wasn’t anything spectacular but was good. Great location! I found the staff very helpful. Lastly they hd a taxi ready for our 330 am trip to airport. Pool here is marginal- but you can use the pool at the other senses property
