MastonAitio cabins are located right next to the Masto slopes in Ruka. Cabins are very good for active families. Near the cabins you can find a rope tow lift and kids' ski area. All the cabins have beautiful views.
Great skiing break
Reviewed By Companion16312103990The lodge was great, well equipped, very warm with under floor heating, radiators and a log fire. Wood is provided. Ski up and away from the lodge if you wish or there is a bus to take you to the village or the valley. The valley is only a 20 min walk. Beds are comfortable, good showers and the sauna is excellent for those tired muscles. Only down side the upstairs room in the 6-8 berth, the stairs are very steep. Kitchen has everything you need including a dishwasher, microwave fudge and cooker all the pans lates and cutlery are also provide. The views from the lodges are stunning all in all well worth the money. 5 out of 5

Hotel RukaVillage 30 m2 (2+1 beds) studios combine the best aspects of a hotel room and an apartment. The rooms have saunas and kitchens and the room price includes buffet breakfast for two. Ski-Inn RukaVillage Hotel and Apartments are short walking distance away from the slopes, cross-country ski tracks and SkiBus.
Really easy place to stay

Received a letter from the rep stating our 5 digit numeric code to unlock the apartment door which was really simple and very welcome. Also had a code for our individual ski locker downstairs. The apartment was very functional but well laid out. Bed was fine but pillows were small. Make sure you check the drawers as the extra towels are in there. There is no housekeeping all week. We had a studio (rukavillage30 on the official website), so we were entitled to breakfast in the attached Colorado bar. Breakfast was ok but the same each day. Some people came from other apartment blocks but nobody ever questioned if we were entitled to a breakfast. It was very relaxed. The drying cupboard in the apartment was really handy. The sauna was great too. It seemed like everything was well~thought out to make your stay as relaxed as possible. Use the supermarket for cheaper beer and snacks. At first, we thought the Finns were a bit miserable, as they never went out of their way to be friendly but as soon as you talked to them, they changed their attitude and were very chatty. I guess they are more reserved than we are. All in all, the apartments were ideal, especially being a few paces from the gondola and main chairlift. Worth a trip but I doubt we will return as the 30 runs aren’t enough to keep you interested over 6 days of skiing. They were relatively easy compared to the Alps but don’t let that put you off because everyone appreciates a piste to themselves at some point! We paid to see the northern lights but saw nothing. Decided to just walk outside at midnight onto blue piste 6 and saw an amazing aurora on two separate nights for free.

Apartments are in wooded surrounding ab 350 meters from the main hotel. Most of standard class rooms are renovated 2012 and 2013 with cosy decor . Spacious superior class rooms with balconies available. In every apartment you can find a sauna where you can enjoy after the refreshing day spent outside. Free wi-fi in hotel rooms and lobby area. Day Spa - in the hotel permises; facial and body treatments.

Reviewed By Klavdiia BWe were very pleased with our stay at the Scandic apartments. Location is very good and ticks all the spots for the great time at the resort. I was very pleased that hotel took into the account the request for the 2 level apartment we have requested. We were very lucky that our view was towards the slopes, perfect view for relaxing during the evening time! We had everything what we needed, perhaps oven could make it even better, yet not a big thing: you can still cook all your meals without any problem. Totally recommend for staying, will absolutely come again!

Magical Pond is a place to hear the silence, to enjoy pure nature and arctic night. Our modern igloos are made in Scandinavian style, their unusual shape allows our guests to observe nature as close and comfortably as possible. It is a perfect location to observe a blanket of stars with dancing Aurora Borealis on a clear-sky day. Cozy and modern igloos will show you a beauty of our nature all year round: arctic nightless nights, “ruska” in autumn, trees all covered under the snow, as well as birds and animals, coming to greet you from our forests.
Beauty and privacy, still somewhat unfinished

The place turned out to be worthy of its name already on the first night, when we saw a swan descending into the pond as well as beautiful northern lights ♥️. Special thanks for the environmental and pet friendliness and privacy. We appreciated how the entire visit was handled without face-to-face contact with staff or other guests. We slept very well, which is not self-evident in hotels. At the moment, Magical Pond is still somewhat unfinished and it remains to be seen how for example the new reception and sauna facilities will affect the concept and price level. Some of the walkways are paved with such a large crushed stone that you need to be careful with your ankles and if you have a (small) dog, you need to carry your pet to avoid toe accidents. Iglu lacked instructions on how to use the coffee machine and we realized too late that there was some much needed storage space under the stairs. So the content of the igloo's info cards would need a check.

Apartments have a great views to courtyard, slopes or Ruka village. There is a free parking lot in the backyard and a heated parking hall next to the hotel. Transfer from Kuusamo airport to Ruka is only about 30 minutes, and a bus is waiting for every flight!

Reviewed By KRAJEWSKI KWe were 3 in the room, and there was enough place for everyone and our hiking stuff. Ruka is really not far and there is a market next to the Motel. In the room, everything clean, and everything to rest and make food. The owner was really cool: we were sitting outside our room doing nothing, the owner saw us and asked us if we would like to join him for rafting. I found it really kind from him and it shows that the owner pays attention to you. Don't hesistate to go there, especially after the Karhunkierros.

Rukariutta Apartments on perheystävällinen huoneistohotelli Rukan Portissa lähellä palveluita. Tilaa löytyy niin perheiden kuin kaveriporukoidenkin lomanviettoon: Rukariutta koostuu yläkerran kymmenestä huoneistosta (60m²), sekä kahdeksasta uudesta alakerran huoneistosta (70m²), jotka valmistuivat syyskuussa 2019. Molemmissa huoneistotyypeissä on 2 makuuhuonetta ja levitettävä sohva (4+2), sauna ja wc. Huoneistossa on myös pyykinpesukone, kuivauskaappi sekä hyvin varusteltu keittiö pidempääkin lomaa varten. Kymmenessä yläkerran huoneistossa on lisäksi takka. Jokaisessa huoneistossa on joko oma parveke tai terassi. Rukariutta sijaitsee vain 700m päässä Rukankylästä, Rukanportin alueella. Aivan vierestä löytyy kelkkavuokraamo, kauppa, Alko, lounas- ja kahvilapaikka sekä vaivattomat kulkuyhteydet julkisilla liikennevälineillä Kuusamon keskustaan tai Karhunkierroksen alkupisteeseen Hautajärvelle. Ravintola Zone sijaitsee noin 800m päässä huoneistoista. Kelkkavuokraamo Rukahuolto sijaitsee Rukariutan naapurissa. Lähin ruokakauppa on vain 200 metrin päässä Riutasta.
Halpa mutta laadussa sen näkee. Hyvät kävely yhteydet Rukakeskukseen.
Reviewed By VirveL46Sanonta halvalla ei saa hyvää, piti paikkansa. Huonekalut, astiat ruoanlaitto välineet kuluneet ja osa jopa käyttökelvottomat. Pihalla Rukan skibussien parkkipaikat ja aitoja saatettiin pitää tyhjäkäynnillä aamuvarhaisesta lähtien. Saunan sähkökiuas oli todella monimutkainen mutta sitten kun älysi sen lokiigan niin saatiin saunakin lämpimäksi. Naapuri asunnon takan sytytys aiheutti kaikkiin asuntoihin pitkään kestäneen palohälyytyksen joten ei uskallettu riskeerata uusintaa ja 750€ hälyytyssakkoa, joten jätettiin takka käyttämättä. Seinänapurin äänet kuuluvat helposti läpi. Hyvää hyvät kävely yhteydet Rukakeskukseen, ruokakaupan ja Alkon sijainti ihan vieressä. Ei tulla kyllä tänne uudestaan.
