My initial feeling for the hotel was quite bad. That was solly based on Booking.coms communication. The hotel was actually quite a lot more than promised. The cabin was spacious, new and clean. The personel very friendly and polite. The restaurant was at least a four star experience. This hotel I can easily recommend to anybody who has taste and values high quality.

At first, the room seemed rather small and plain but in the end I realized it was quite comfortable. The bed was narrow but comfortable, too. The overall service was excellent and the dinner at the restaurant absolutely fabulous!

Really bad location

Reviewed By Ruja64

We booked two nights in the cheapest cabin (72 Euros per night). I'm not born in luxury, so we took this cabin. When we arrived, we got the key from the hotel 500 meters away. We had to pick it up, after that it was really hard to go into the cabin, because the lock was so old... Then we saw our bed, table and bathroom. There was a letter "Our cabin prepared 'Tipi'. Warmly welcome. But...the bed was not even made. Everything looked really uncomfortable and cheap. Then, the wireless is not working. As we asked at the reception, she said that not all the cabins have wireless. So we walked through the area, but we couldn't find our wireless...many cabins were not booked, so I think it's no problem to give us one woth wireless. I took a shower and I was happy to get wet...it's such a bad shower, there's only a bit water coming out. I'm happy that we didn't use the kitchen, because it doesn't look like usefull. Breakfast was also in the hotel, so we had to take the car or walking by feet for 500 meters. The breakfast was not good...a lot of fast food (fruits, vegetables,...) and it didn't look nice...not appetizing. We cancled our second night and were happy about leaving this place...I recommend you to search another hotel to stay in Inari.

What a wonderful night

We really enjoyed our night in the cabin and the great opportunity to see the auroras without the village lights. We were lucky to be the only guests that night so we had the kitchen and sauna at the base camp to ourselfes. Esko - who build everything himself!! - pulled us to the lake around 9pm and we stayed there till 9am the next morning. Luckily the sky was clear and we could see amazing polar lights that night :)

Could Not Have Asked for a Better Base!

Reviewed By Furkan J

I selected Inari for my third attempt to see the Northern Lights because it was attractive for other reasons too. There are a diverse range of activities, and it is the heart of Sami culture in Finland, which I find interesting. I chose Villa Lanca Guest House because of its location- right next to the main supermarket, a few hundred metres from a good restaurant, and most importantly a 2 minute walk from the bus stop- which is important when you have a very early bus out of town on your last day. All I was really looking for was a fairly priced, central location with a clean bed. I got so much more. My room was absolutely lovely and immaculate, with good facilities. The owner, Sato, was super kind and nothing seemed too much trouble for her. She offered excursions but not in a pushy way at all . I had already booked my activities sadly, but i sort of regretted it, because Sato had so many options I hadn't seen online. She was helpful suggesting option for free self-guided hikes, and things to do on the lake. Basically she knew the area and had lots of ideas to share with visitors. i was keen to try some snowshoeing as I'd never done it before. I expected to have to pay for a short guided excursion- but Sato sorted this out too. Knowing I only needed a bit of an experience, she lent me some snow shoes and told me how to get to the frozen lake to give it a go. I thought that was very kind. I really enjoyed my stay at Villa Lanca- the location is literally the best in town, the price is I think the fairest in town, and the owner really looks after her guests and maintains a superb facility.

Fabulous experience in the middle of wilderness

Reviewed By LarsSipila

This must be on your absolute wishlist while in Lapland. First of all, you are in good hands with Aslak, our guide, who was very attentive with our whole group, taking you along the Lemmenjoki river through wilderness and explaining a whole lot about reindeers and the life as a reindeer farmer/shepherd. We had delicious reindeer soup for lunch and of course, the Ravadas falls are impressive, although not the major point of this incredible adventure through the nature of Lapland.

We are very glad we chose this nice wood cottage to spend our Christmas holidays. The location close to a frozen lake is mesmerizing and the host, Mr Jaakko, is very welcoming. He gave us great information and also gave very good suggestions and even helped us more to try to catch the Northern Lights. Many thanks and we hope to see you again
