Reviewed By Bobd44I’ve seen some negative reviews but I guess it’s all your expectations. From the start the staff tried to help me find a place for my slightly higher vehicle. Letting me park out front so they could watch it. The gym is excellent in my opinion and the WIFI and laundry were too. I stayed two nights. The staff and services were great. I had a single room so on the less expensive side. Worth every penny when traveling South America in your van and needing a break. Nice safe town too!

Reviewed By huanboWe stayed here for Carnival and had a blast! The property is not fancy, but it's a really cool experience and the rooms and clean and comfortable and offer a beautiful view of the city. The staff are really nice, and were more than willing to help with anything we needed. The hotel also had a convenience store at the bottom, which came in handy. Also, after a long time traveling though Bolivia, it was helpful to find a place that could do laundry cheaply and quickly and exchange money as well. Plus, it had strong wifi and was centrally located. It's a no-frills hotel, but I would definitely recommend it!

Reviewed By SimiltiadesWe stopped over here for a night mainly because it seemed to be the only hostel in Oruro when I looked online. Obviously, WiFi is fairly poor at the bus station when we arrived; so not knowing where else to go we made our way here to check out a room. We didn't know if or for how long we would be staying in Oruro; so we hadn't booked in advance. When we turned up at the hostel, the guy on the front desk told us they only had a private room available at about $20US or so per night. It was a bit more than we wanted to pay, but we had little other choice. He was friendly though, and the downstairs lobby had a nice decoration like a rustic wooden shack. Maps of the region lined the walls, with details of other activities to do as day trips, but as per usual in South America these are difficult and expensive to get to if you do not have your own car. The room was comfortable enough, but two stories up which proved to be a bit of a problem: it was our first day in Bolivia and the altitude sickness was starting to settle in. Fortunately, there is a shop below the hostel which is open late into the night and sells water bottles for dirt cheap. This was all the more convenient, as the tap water from the hostel kitchen was toxic to drink, and though the hostel itself had a water dispenser, it remained unfilled throughout the two days of our stay. As other have commented, the toilet leaves a lot to be desired. It's a tiny cold cupboard on the side of the bedroom, with no air vents so as to attract extra mould. The shower is mounted on the wall at an angle where it will always spray into the toilet and the bin. I'm glad it's not me changing the bin, because of course as with everywhere in South America, you cannot flush the toilet paper. The floor was not particularly clean either, but we made do. There is a roof terrace as well, with a laundry service up there too. However, they dry the clothes on a line over the smoking balcony. So, use the laundry service if you want your clothes to smell like cigarettes, I guess. From up there, there's a decent view over the town towards the peaks though. It's not a bad hostel and they were friendly enough, but there's enough complaints in my review that are pretty basic things that they should have worked on already. I wouldn't object to staying there again, but I'd equally hope for somewhere better - especially as the price is more than a hostel in Bolivia should be; especially not a perfect one.

LA PEOR EXPERIENCIA DE MI VIDA
Reviewed By DUBRASKAMNLlegamos muy tarde al terminal de Oruro y por la hora decidimos quedarnos en este hotel que de encuentra frente a la terminal, para empezar el acceso se encuentra muy descuidado y hay pocas viviendas a su alrededor, al ingresar la recepción se veía limpia y acogedora por esta razón decidimos quedarnos cabe resaltar que pedimos ver la habitación antes pero no lo permitieron así que nos dejamos llevar por el aspecto de la recepción y nos quedamos. Ya que pagamos por la habitación nos dirigimos a ella los pasillos tenían calefacción una vez en la habitación las camas eran duras, encontramos cabellos en las almohadas y sábanas, peor aún cuando ingresé al baño se encontraba muy sucio con restos de pelos y cabello por todo lado y hasta envoltorio de shampoo ya usados, claramente no se había realizado una limpieza, pedimos un cambio de habitación y nos la negaron, como repito era muy tarde y mi novio y yo nos encontrábamos agotados por lo que pasamos la noche ahí cubiertos con nuestras colchas las cuales teníamos apenas amaneció salimos en busca de otro lugar. Yo m dedico al sector hotelero en mi país y se cuáles son los estándares requeridos para un hotel de su categoría y lamentablemente un hostal está en mejores condiciones.

Reviewed By Andreas MIn Oruro there seem to be a large choice of hotels but none really cater to tourists as Oruro is not on many peoples radar if it comes to visit. The hotel is located within the central part of town and has everything within walking distance. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet had a great choice of food. Liked it
