Relaxing by the pool in the sunshine - always space (as it's not a massive hotel) and food/ drinks available all day from the poolside bar. 3 - Modern, clean rooms - with balcony, sea view, aircon, firm king sized bed, good shower. 4. Breakfast - delicious and so much choice! After a morning workout in the well-equipped gym... 5. Short 5-min walk to the beach and Antonios, a tasty seafood restaurant. Consider... It's 15 min walk to Lagos Town centre or 5 minute taxi (Uber is €3 euros). There is a development going on next door with a large crane. Noisy at times but not enough to spoil our stay at this wonderful hotel. Highly recommend.

Reviewed By traveling_criI recently stayed at Vila Luz for two days with a friend, and after my stay I received an email from Vila Luz soliciting comments. The email contained the following sentence: We would like to thank you for your recent visit to Vila Luz. It was truly a pleasure to serve you! Every Guest is a Valued Guest, and we were delighted to be your chosen hotel during your recent stay. In my experience, none of the statements in the above sentence were true: it was not a pleasure for hem to serve customers, we were not treated as valued guests, and the staff was surly and put upon by our presence. There were a number of problems with our stay. 1. We ordered food the first night, for 28 euros, and it was some toast bread cut up in squares, and a frozen pizza. Absolutely terrible. 2. The man at the reception was terribly unfriendly. My friend and I were appalled at how rude he was to us. Also, there is nobody manning the desk after 11 pm, which for a 4-star hotel, is unthinkable. 3. I stayed two days, and the first morning I woke up with three cleaning ladies chatting, pretty loudly, under my window. Don't they know that people are sleeping? I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

Great spot with lovely staff
Reviewed By Anon1millionWe came for 4 days and stayed for 8 days. Location was great. Our room was clean. The bed was large. Good shower pressure and temperature. The room was nice and quiet with a very good blind to block out light. We slept so well there. The staff were helpful with local activities and helping us plan the next stage of our trip. Overall a good experience. The only minus was the shower design, it was hard to keep water in the shower area

Fantastic Time at Alto Mar Inn
Reviewed By heather1504It is not often I leave reviews of my trips but I felt compelled to leave a review of the Alto Mar where I was staying during my first visit to Lagos, Portugal. The location was perfect with shops, restaurants, bars and of course a beautiful beach close by. The Guesthouse was very clean and modern and had a great atmosphere. The breakfast was of a very high standard that we never ventured out to try any breakfasts elsewhere! Fatima, our host prepared the food fresh every morning and took great care and effort to ensure both my friend and myself had everything we needed. Fatima also provided us with lots of information and what restuarants and sites we should prioritise. Excellent value for money. Thank you Alto Mar and Fatima for a wonderful stay! I will be back for another holiday in the near future.

Halfway Vale Falfeira ,Herdade dos Frades is there, located 80 meters above sea level. A one level floor, spacious luxury bed and breakfast containing 6 guest areas. Faltou o pequeno almoço que vinha na reserva e que ficou pago
Reviewed By sribeirinho2Casa bastante acolhedora e limpa. Uma das razões por ter escolhido esta Guest House foi o facto de ter pequeno almoço incluído uma vez que viajava com crianças. Não me foi dito que o mesmo já não estava incluído devido ao Covid 19 quando efetuei o respetivo Check In. No dia seguinte estivemos sentados á espera do pequeno almoço e nada, acabei por ter que ir tomá-lo fora. Quando questionei o proprietário sobre o mesmo pediu-me desculpa pois a minha reserva era a última que ainda tinha o pequeno almoço incluído e esqueceu-se de me avisar. A solução foi deixar na cozinha chá, café, cereais e mel. As crianças comem os cereais com quê????Leite que não havia e para o mel, onde estava o pão ou as bolachas para o mesmo??? Nada, teria de ir comprar!!!! Pelo que vi on-line a casa com pequeno almoço tinha o custo de 5€ por pessoa, ora se éramos 5 pessoas durante 2 dias tivemos em pequeno almoços 50€ que não usufruímos mas que pagámos pois não nos foi descontado no pagamento final e deveria tê-lo sido.

Rooms are small but clean with all you need but not electric cattle. Breakfast is served in the dining area. In the evening you can order all sorts of pizza & other Italian meals prepared by the chef. It's really yummy stuff he makes. As surreal as it sounds I had in Nigeria in Marian Guest House the most decision tiramisu I've ever had in my life. There is also small pool for relaxation where you can have e a beer. All sinked & surrounded by deep green vegetation what makes this place unique & gives home feel. On top personal is lovely & on top of their duties.

Amazing stay
Reviewed By olafheilkerHad a great room with a small balcony to sit and to dry your stuff. The airco did just the way it supposed to be and the room was really clean. It had everything we need for the week we stayed. The owner was very kind and helpful. The location was the best part. Few min. Walk to the main area and enough place to park your car (for free!)
