Booked for 17 including two young children for a 60th birthday dinner. Great table layout, excellent food and superb service. Everyone complemented the food through each course. Could not be faulted. Chef and waitresses deserve 5* rating. I said we would go back - just need to give them notice - I think there will be more of us in 5 years time for the 65th!. Can' t. Praise them enough. Just wish I lived closer to go every week.

We popped in from Salema and weren't disappointed!
A lovely small bistro hidden away in the back streets.
Wonderful food, my husband had the pan fried foie gras and the confit duck and said it was the best food he's ever had in the 10years of visiting Portugal.
My lamb was fab.
A very hard working couple with lovely service and attention to detail.
Merci x
We will be back.

I had the flaming salami starter and the Mrs had the mushrooms, for mains I had the meatballs and my wife had the sea bream all excellent. Ken the owner is a real character and loves his music. We agree the food and service were excellent. I had the filet steak and it was cooked perfectly and both flavorful and tender. I was thinking I couldn’t order steaks here as the few I did on this trip were not as good as we get in the States, but this was and the sauce was perfect. A glass of the house wine was very good. Evening started with an amuse-bouche of tempura shrimp with chili sauce. Yum.
The decor is dated in a “beachy” pastel way but not offensive. Nice views and light and airy atmosphere. Servers professional and courteous. Everything you’d expect with fine dining except the bill was quite reasonable. I think you’ll really like it.

Thought this was more out of the way than it was. Really only a 10 minute walk to the Promenade area. Doesn't look as though it's the most salubrious of areas, beside the camp ground.
Went because of the reviews on trip advisor and we always have a day at Lagos when we visit the Algarve.
There is a huge selection of burgers, chicken, beef and vegetarian. Chips on the side are really fab.
We also had mozzarella sticks and chicken wings to share as starters. Really good too.
We were around €60 for 4 of us, starters, mains and drinks. Couldn't do dessert as we were completely stuffed. Try it.

Tasca Do Kiko

We're nearing the end of eleven weeks in Lagos and, having also been here before, know the place fairly well. There are all sorts of different restaurants and similar, and the general standard is high.
This was however our first visit to Tasca Do Kiko and we all thought it was excellent: great and interesting food; friendly high class service; and decent value. Indeed I think all four of us were near concluding 'that was probably the best restaurant experience we have had in Lagos'.
You are unlikely to just walk past Tasca Do Kiko, because it is hidden away - over the bridge into the Marina, but then head right rather than left to the usual eateries. It is essentially behind the port and the dry dock containing all the yachts, but still only five minutes walk from the Marina bridge.
It is primarily a tapas style restaurant and you want 2 to 3 per person and the price per tapas is about six euros. Drinks are reasonably priced, and if you do have three tapas each you wont usually require the couvert or a sweet. So, a drink beforehand, a nice bottle of wine per couple, and three tapas each would mean a couple paying a total of about 50 to 60 euros. BTW think about booking in advance, midweek, mid-Feb and it was full by 8pm.
We're heading back to the UK soon, but we'll defo be back at Tasca do Kiko first!!

We tried this restaurant as we wanted a change... it was good but not amazing...
The popadums and sauces were good and the samosas were OK, we were given chicken despite ordering meat... but not a great issue....
We had the butter chicken and lamb passanda from the lunch menu.... each dish had just 4 pieces of meat, so they were mainly sauce.... I know the lunch menu items would be smaller, but 4 small pieces of meat is a bit mean...
The naans were hot and tasty and the rice was good.
However, the service was mixed, one waiter seemed to be training, as he made lots of mistakes... they were friendly and did their best....

Casa do Prego

Although inspired in a Portuguese food tradition Casa do Prego is an alternative to the endless traditional restaurants in Lagos. Pregos also called the Portuguese dessert are steak sandwiches that we finish off a tapas meal with. Casa do Prego is the revival of this old food tradition in Portugal.

We arrived without Reservations for dinner for two and luckily they had a table for us. This place takes Reservations and if you are better organized than we, you should consider making them for their busy dinner hour. The restaurant entry we used was up a flight of stairs and if that’s a consideration, you can go around to use their other entrance onto their outdoor patio. For dinner we had 3 of their delicious tapas and especially enjoyed the tuna one. The staff is super friendly and helpful with suggestions.
