My partner booked this trip as a last minute getaway for us. We stayed at the Alton Towers Hotel Resort- our room was nice, clean and comfortable. The food was ok- but arrived cold and way overpriced. On arrival was very excited about going to the theme park in the morning- however, this is where lot's of things went wrong. Queue for Wickerman 2 hours, then closed just as we were about to get on due to technical faults. We then went to ride on Nemesis, queued for over an hour and again, closed due to technical fault, we then went to ride on Rita, queued for 2 hours and again, closed for 30 mins and then reopened with only a few carriages. Skyride was closed, so ended up walking 6km! However, the one saving grace was Smiler- fantastic ride , expected queuing time and was the highlight (the only highlight to our day!). We went back today, again Wickerman closed and so was Thirteen (because it was too cold?!). Really really disappointing . Having travelled a long way and spent a lot of money we are both very disappointed and decided not to turn our tickets in to annual passes. The only 2 good things about the park- fantastic staff and the Smiler ride! I know it wasn't only us complaining as we heard so many people complaining throughout our stay. I understand technical difficulties happen and safety is paramount, I also understand it is the beginning of the season for the park.. however, I really feel those who were affected by the numerous technical difficulties over the past few days, sky ride not working and missing out on lot's of rides should be refunded or at least given some vouchers or a chance to fast track the rides on another date.

We had a really good day out but that’s not to say this park doesn’t have issues.
We would have paid over £100 for 2 adults and 2 young children, fortunately we were saved by Tesco Clubcard.
Initial impressions were good, there were loads of staff on the ticket desk. We then went through security with mental detectors and bag searches; initially I felt reassured by this however it was clearly not there for security and instead there to sniff out picnics. If only they were so rigorous in finding the cannabis people were openly smoking around the park.
Once inside we had a good day. Barely any queues. Some of the new rides are well thought out and exceptional like Wallace and Gromit. It’s just a shame the park looks an utter mess and Shambles. It’s a hotch-potch of rides, concrete and metal work. The grounds are not great. I would also argue there aren’t enough rides to justify the high price.
Which brings me on to the final negativity - the price of food n drink. Rip-off doesn’t even come close. When you’ve already spent so much on admittance you don’t expect to pay £2 for a small bottle of Pepsi.
We had a good day but this was mainly down to going on clubcard and the park being empty. We would have been disappointed had this not been the case.

The highlight of the visit are the Apartments. We did go through Doll House display as the line wasn’t long, albeit i didn’t find it very interesting. We went late in day so it wasn’t crowed. Got a great tourist picture of my daughter with one of the palace guards. Wonderful place to just wonder around within the grounds as well.
Being an American, the British history mostly goes right over my head, but still enjoyed the visit.
Somewhat expensive but a must see if in Windsor.

Well presented zoo, the animals appear to be contented and happy. Loads of attractions with a new boat trip through the Islands area. Loads of good, interactive fun for children. The food was expensive and unspectacular ie a small punnet of pales fries with runny cheese and peppers £5.95 odd!! A cheese burger £5.50, cold bun and small, skinny burger. Take your own food but otherwise fabulous day out - wear comfy shoes!

Great displays and loads of interesting things to see even if you’re not a train spotter!
Had a Japanese bullet train. Some of the massive old steam engines were amazing to see how big they are when standing next to them.
Royal carriages and loads of other things to see.
Worth a visit if in York.

Really enjoyed visiting the castle, we arrived at 10 am and managed to stay all day. I think the car Park should be free though. Friendly staff and entry price was reasonable at £9.50 each because we paid in advance, but I wouldn't pay full price. Because the weather was not brilliant, it wasn't busy. We didn't go to the Dungeons this time . Food at the castle reasonably priced and they have a pizza and pasta all you can eat at I believe £11 a head but we brought a picnic and there was lots of picnic tables around the grounds. Our favourite part was the peacock Gardens and the Time Tower. Stunning views and a really good day out. Would recommend.

There is no disputing the nostalgia and atmosphere associated with this venue, but a number of factors dampened our enthusiasm: long queues, overcrowding preventing a view of the stage( apparently there were 4 Beatles but we could only see one) and the warm up act was simply dreadful.
One off the bucket list but will be in no rush to return

Fascinating exhibition, interesting themes well followed through with good range of examples by Pre-Raphaelite and later artists. Helpful audio-tape. Only downside was paucity of seating: just a couple of benches positioned at sides with paintings not in view; NG's usual portable folding seats were not available though requested.

It was a vey cold day in London. Once you get to Stonehenge, it will be even chillier. There were still snow on the ground when we got there. The kids had a blast having a snowball fight that I was afraid they missed the beauty and the mystery of Stonehenge.
