Discover Restaurants offering the best European food in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. The sprawling University of Wisconsin sets the tone for this college town of cafes, bookstores, brewpubs, numerous restaurants (more per capita than anywhere else in the U.S.) and a good share of cultural and historical attractions. Stunning glacial waterways make the City of Lakes one of the more picturesque state capitals in the country. More than 250 parks offer residents and tourists plenty of recreational areas to choose from. If you visit the campus, be sure to try the famous Babcock Ice Cream at Memorial Union or Babcock Hall, before or after a visit to the Elvehjem Museum of Art's collection of Greek, Roman and Egyptian antiquities. And to really get into the college spirit, head over to State Street's eclectic range of ethnic restaurants. Be sure to try the mouth-watering bratwurst sandwich on a homemade bun at State Street Brats, a student favorite. At the end of State Street, the white granite, Roman Renaissance-style Capitol dominates the skyline and offers an observation platform for views of the city and lakes.

Brasserie V - Neighborhood Eatery & Tap Room

I've been to Brasserie V a couple of times, after a friend's recommendation as the place to get the best burger. I admit that I was not amazed by their burger; Although I did like the meat, I did not particularly like having a toastie bread instead of a bun. I've tried their salads, which I found to be a good attempt but would not describe them as good. However, I have really enjoyed their steak thus I am giving 3 bubbles instead of 2. Their beer menu is extensive but they have small measures.

2 stars because the food is very good, very delicious tomato sauce, but the waiter, he acts like is bothered with the fact of people going there, 1st.when he brought my salad he threw my plate on the table with disgust. 2nd. I asked for my plate to come WITHOUT the spaguetti and it came with the spaguetti anyway, terrible spaguetti btw, too hard, was that AL DENTE? , 3rd the lemonade was more ice than lemonade and when we ran out of lemonade nobody asked to refill it... I think I can live without going there again, I don't have time to be misstreated by a waiter, there are other italian restaurants around Middleton!

La Kitchenette

French Homestyle Cafe & Restaurant!

Reviewed By Praveen J

We had dinner at La Kitchenette last week. We've eaten there about half a dozen times and have always been impressed with the delicious food and the friendly and efficient service. It's a small restaurant with only a few tables, but has a very nice ambiance. They serve French "comfort food" at reasonable prices. The only complaint I have is that they haven't changed their menu in a long time--although they do have some specials. I would suggest that they come up with seasonal menus for some variety.
