We stopped in to Le Wine Bar Margaux during a recent two day stay in Margaux. We found it simply by driving past it on our way through town, and it is a great lunch spot! It has a patio in the back where you can grab wines by the glass and a variety of cheese and charcuterie plates as well as delicious salads. The food was good and the service was nice as well even though they got pretty busy. We were seated outside, but the indoor area had a good atmosphere as well. The wine bar just opened up recently but it is a really great spot for lunch in Margaux.Thank you so much for your comment, you made our day ! It's the Wandering Yank here. Mrs. Yank and I discovered belatedly that the Medoc wineries are closed 12-2 for lunch, and since we were hungry, we randomly entered the nearest cafe.We were very pleasantly surprised! It was quite crowded, but there was 1 table available. We appeared to be the only foreigners, a good sign. We each opted for a different plat du jour - pork for me, and chicken for her. Both were superb. And the local house wine was excellent. Service was unhurried, smiling and thorough. And the decor was bright and cheerful. It put us in a great mood for a tasting visit to Chateau Baudan (see my review).2 thumbs up!

The Cave de lâEstuaire is offering excellent wine, just let them know what you like, they will find the right one. (Or Rhum (with pinapple) or other specialities) Just order some tapas and enjoy the evening with a nice view on the citadelle. Un grand merci à très bientôt
