Sunday is the big day in this terrific little town. Things get real quiet after that especially off season. We were up for a casual meal at dinner after a big lunch in Gordes. The place could not have been better. Sharable small plates especially. Extensive wine choices.

Having set up shop since 2006 inside an authentic art-deco bistrot, wine and cheese experts Stephane and Janique Fina welcome you right in the center of Isle sur Sorgue. A wine merchant trained as a sommelier, Stephane will guide you through an inventory
This is a real artisan cheese and wine delight! We ordered white wine and a cheese and charcuterie selection. The offering was fantastic (see the pictures). This is a great venue, vintage, with lots of atmosphere. Service is slow but well intended, the owners are simply cheese experts with a passion for everything cheese. I speculate they can name the cows, sheep and goats who contributed the milk for the cheese. Great, just great!Just go!

A real local hangout (I felt like the only one who didn't know everyone else!), they do cocktails and French-style tapas. Sit on the terrace right by the canal. It's a charming place with friendly staff and good food that doesn't come in enormous portions (or prices!).

For half a day in town we decided to also stay for dinner and considering as per trip advisor there were 113 restaurants we thought it was easy to find one we liked and which had ambience......but that wasn't the case.....but finally after walking around for nearly 45 minutes checking out mainly empty restaurants or ones with close to no ambiance, we ended up at Beef Pub.....a bit of a copy of the Australian Hogs Breath Cafe Restaurants without the "gidday mate".Located in an old mill, with some of the equipment still present as part of the decoration, overall a typical pub interior with tables quite close to each other, but overall a pleasant ambiance and by the time we left the restaurant all tables were occupied Welcome was a bit aloof, but after that the service provided was friendly and efficient. From the menu, which was of course focused on meat cuts, we selected to start with some guacamole to share, and as mains the beef tartare, the noix and two tataki, further enhanced with some house wine by the glass and Hoegaarden beer from the tap.Food presentation was pub style, at the right temperature and excellent in taste.Considering the bill being Euro 130 for a party of four, the dinner was good value for money. When in L'Isle sur la Sorgue and after a good meal with beef as basis don't look further and just dine at Beef BarDefinitely a place where we will return when next visiting this townHello tvvopinion, thank you for your comment, see you again.

We ate at La Guinguette yesterday lunchtime in beautiful sunshine watching young boys hurl themselves from high tree branches into La Sorgue river. It is a casual place - very good service. We were in the mood for burgers so my husband has a 100% beef one and myself a vegetarian one made with tofu and vegetables. Both were absolutely delicious including the burger bun which was tasty in its own right. We had their delicious artisan ice cream afterwards which was superb. I had a scoop of salted caramel and one of coffee while my husband had a grand vanilla affair with hot chocolate sauce and chantilly cream with toasted almonds.La Guinguette takes great pride in using very good ingredients locally sourced. Excellent.
