March 15, 2020 Osvaldo Hartline

Find out what Thai restaurants to try in Pinellas Park. Pinellas Park is a city located in central Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 49,079 at the 2010 census. Originally home to northern transplants and vacationers, the hundred year old city has grown into the fourth largest city in Pinellas County, the most densely-populated county in Florida. The city and surrounding areas are almost completely urbanized. Pinellas Park contains a substantial portion of the "Gateway" area of the county, targeted for future infrastructure, residential, and commercial development as it sits roughly in the middle of the Tampa Bay area's over two million people. Though technically land-locked, its borders lie only a few miles from Tampa Bay to the east, and Boca Ciega Bay and the Gulf of Mexico to the west. The city is known for its popular equestrian facilities and events, and many residents also participate in fishing and water activities in nearby venues. On Park Boulevard, the city's oldest street and primary thoroughfare, one can find anything from produce stalls and flea markets to high-end luxury vehicles.

We have been visiting Kao Thai for a few months now. It has become our “Sunday night place”. The food is amazing and there are so many different dishes to choose from. It’s great for vegetarians as well with many veggie and tofu based meals available. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and the service is warm and homey. Just a great place to go! Thanks Kao Thai!

THE ADDRESS SHOWN ABOVE IS NOT CORRECT. They moved five doors south in the same SOUTHLAND plaza to 9707 - 66th Street North in Pinellas Park and tripled their capacity and store size adding an entire section for catering and parties, dancing and entertainment. In the Thai, Laotian, community this is Saturday night live. Very popular. The food is authentic, the menu gratefully in English, the service spot on, the place is clean, reminded me of a place we ate at in Udorn, located near Udon Thani, one of seven American Base's in Thailand shared with the Royal Thai Air Force during the Vietnam War. You start with a small bowl of soup and a small salad. The soup being rich clear broth with scallions, cilantro, small bits of meat, garlic oil and other herbs and spices. Delicious Then another small serving of salad with broccoli, cucumbers, lettuce and tomato with a peanut dressing, just to get the palate going.I opted for the traditional Pad THAI, the most popular dish from that region of the world with about five hundred variations but this one was good. If you went to Thailand today, probably the biggest street food served. I once said "Pad Thai" means "Thai Traditional" translated. The Thai Staple. It's meat, thin rice, noodle, egg, bean sprouts, scallions and ground peanuts, and the customary lime (Do It Yourself ) is right on the plate, next to the orange slice. You can have it with chicken which I had or beef, seafood etc.Its a very substantial order of Pad Thai, and you will not walk out hungry possibly even refusing desert. Im a good eater and I barely finished it. Couple of points of light:• There are three small compartmented dishes - three in line on the table all filled with varying degrees of chili heat. The first is heat, how much you use depends on what you can handle comfortably. The middle dish of heat is for professional fire breathers, and the end powdered chili is for resurrecting the dead. I stayed with one.• You may not get all the dishes at the same time: Their culture wants to deliver the food as soon as it hits its peak and serve it but, woks (even those 1000 degree propane fired monsters) only cook one meal or serving at a time. Restaurant food is measured in minutes, Thai food is measured in seconds. • I watched a table of seven and the dishes came out of the kitchen as they were made insuring, cooked perfect, hot and delivered quickly. They do not hold up an order to make everything at once which is OK with me. I agree, I eat in the moment, not in the trough. My partner, who is from Lao ordered beef with BokChoy, Noodles and Scallions, Complex dishes require skills, and there are many ingredients and timing is the key. • I cook a lot with a wok and know that seconds can make or break a dish, patience is a virtue and the food here is well worth it.

T'asia Sushi Bar & Thai Cuisine

Since moving back home to St. Pete recently and loving Thai food, we have begun to explore all the Thai restaurants in the Tampa Bay area after being gone from here for over 15 years. So last night was our first visit to T'Asia.Usually my husband and I can easily agree upon the rating a restaurant deserves based on our experience with the food, service and atmosphere. This place sort of stumped us.There was absolutely nothing bad about it. The place is clean and service was prompt. Our appetizers and entrees were "good". Yet, there was nothing "wow" about any of it that made us say to ourselves, "oh gee, we have to return soon to have this dish again or to try something else".If this was the only Thai restaurant in the entire Tampa Bay area, then we could make it our Thai place to go. But that's not the case and we have had exceptional Thai food in our travels. So for us, we will continue to explore the other Thai alternatives in the area.Meanwhile, YOU should not discount this place. Go and judge for yourself!
