This has been the site of several different restaurants that never managed to survive until Bruce Lee opened his American Sushi House. It was just the warm and welcoming place needed in the cold, foggy locale off of Skyline Drive at Hickey, in Pacifica. Featuring large, varied sushi rolls and wonderful bento lunches for $10, it quickly became popular.Bruce's "Freedom Roll Challenge" at $39.95 offers customers a free 4 lb. roll if they can finish it in 30 minutes - I've never tried it but I've sampled most other things on the menu, including all the Korean offerings. Bruce knows many of his customers by name since, once you've dined there, it's a given that you'll return.Bruce and Irene always make you welcome and you return for the good company and excellent food and extensive menu.

I had some misgivings about this place when I agreed to come with a bunch of my wife's friends for lunch. This is a huge place that easily accommodated our group of 10 people. The food is all served buffet style, and the selection has to be seen to be believed. We started with sushi and some dim sum dumplings before moving on to shrimp (several different kinds), chicken (ditto), and noodles (ditto again). You get the picture.Frankly, I found most of the dishes mediocre. The pot stickers, for example, were doughy and suffered from sitting around on the steam table. This is a very popular place for lunch, particularly among the elder component of the population. Lots of gray hair. The table service, consisting of water, tea, and cleanup, was superb. I discovered more tea in my cup without asking and wondered when that happened. The price of this feast is certainly reasonable. Each share came to $18, complete with tip, after rounding up. Not bad for enough to last for quite a while. So long as you know what to expect, you'll enjoy this place.

I stopped in for some dinner, on a lark, and was pleasantly suprised. Good Japanese food, and large servings. My sashimi was great and fresh. The menu seemed a bit confusing , and ala cart items seemed high, but the meal I ordered could have fed 2. I did not go away hungry.
Have been coming to this same location for over 30 years. Very good food, excellent discounted menu, available ( after you spend 10 dollars off regular menu). Nice atmosphere nice service staff, good for a great meal always fresh and soooo good.
We had several kinds of sushi, beer, sake. All were well prepared and tasted great.Prices were good. Ambiance a little lacking. I think it was because of the odd bright lighting.

I've tried this restaurant three times and I can summarize all of those meals as bland. Nothing stands out, nothing was truly awful. One thing I didn't care for during my most recent visit was that the appetizer arrived after the entree. To be fair I haven't gone for a sushi/sashimi meal, which seems to be their forte. The service is good, the location could be a problem if you are planning an early dinner. Traffic in this part of Pacifica is typically a nightmare during commute hours.

Came in more than once. In a mall corner distracts. Twelve tables have open space. Seating also at counter to watch chef. Had their Thursday special which came in a compartment tray. Nice presentation. Sesame Chicken wasn't what I was expecting, so not great. Just their take. Tried walnut dragon roll and Go For It roll. They were fun to try. Lots of roll choices to choses from. Avacado, fish and other ingredients we're fresh. Liked the house soup. Decor not meant to impress. Penty of dishes in the $10- 15 range.
