Awesome place to visit especially cycling to get there. My brothers and I would cycle from the north side of Pacifica to this spot. The paved road on the devil slide is very smooth. You can also take your car there. Park it on ether side and enjoy a walk full of views. Been here multiple time on my bike and car.

We went to Bad Axe Throwing for a work team offsite. Can't wait til I can go again w/ my friends! Employee Izzy was my group's guide. She was informative, cheerful and relaxed and provided us with a nice intro to Axe Throwing. We warmed up, then played some games. Super fun experience and definitely a good team building event.

Beautiful well-groomed cemetery. They do a great Memorial Day ceremony with military band to honor veterans, passed and living. I saw old soldiers from all branches of the military. Very, very respectful and patriotic. I spoke with a lot of veterans and military families. I love it and go every year.

Short stroll from the parking area down to the beach. Went at very low tide when lots of the tide pools were exposed. Saw a few sea anenomes and 2 starfish. Was hoping to see a whole lot more than that. Lots of people were there as it was a Sat night around sunset. The younger kids will be satisfied with the adventure, but it really wasn't all that impressive.

We stopped for a few hours to let my boys enjoy the beach one last time before heading home. $5.00 for 4 hours of parking, seemed reasonable to us. It wasn't over crowded. Bathrooms near by are a little run down but I was glad they were close by. It was fun watching the surfers.

Just a few minutes south of the border of San Francisco, you will find Thornton Beach Vista and from there the Thornton Beach State Park. The little parking lot at the vista point is easily accessible from Skyline Boulevard. I walked to the edge of the pedestrian vista point in chilly Peninsula wind and fog only to be rewarded with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean shoreline. Even in fog, the view was spectacular. I can only imagine how breathtaking this view would be on a sunny clear day! I must return to see this vista view on another day. I highly recommend visiting the Thornton Beach State Park and Vista to experience an expansive view of the majestic Pacific Ocean shoreline.

I was really surprised the tomb wasn't featured in Tripadvisor and immediately sought to add it! For the history buffs among you who never heard of an American Emperor, here's the short story:
Joshua Norton was once a wealthy San Francisco businessman who lost his entire fortune in the 1850s and disappeared from the scene until September 17, 1859, when he publicly declared himself "Norton I, Emperor of the United States", and later, "Protector of Mexico". By then Mr. Norton was quite insane, however the good folk in San Francisco encouraged him and played along with his numerous public decrees on matters of public policy and his own currency which was accepted around town.
The city furnished him with a uniform, he received free tickets to concerts and theaters and ate for free in many restaurants in the city. In the 1870 national census, Norton's occupation was officially listed as "emperor." with a note that claims he is insane.
On January 8, 1880, Norton collapsed at a street corner and died. 10,000 mourners visited his body in state, and he was buried at the city's expense in the Masonic Cemetery, and later transferred to Woodlawn Cemetery, in Colma. The site is marked by a large stone inscribed "Norton I, Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico."
Author Neil Gaiman incorporated him in his Sandman graphic novels, and there is still a lot of information available on Emperor Norton online. Woodland Cemetery has a giveaway map available in the office which highlights the location of his grave. You can drive all the way up and park right besides it.
A nice historic detour on your way in and out of San Francisco.

Mori Point is a secret place for the locals who bring their dogs for their daily walk, for the runners, for the amateur fishermen. It is federal park lovingly restored by volunteers and the work is on-going. It offers hike trails great for beginners to un-managed footpaths scaling a side of a mountain overlooking cliffs and the beach hundreds of feet below. The view never disappoints, even on a foggy day. During the season, the whales like to feed close to shore and that is the biggest attraction of all.
It truly is a special place but don't tell anyone, you'd want this place all to yourself.

If you are like me, you like to hike. You may even like to take long hikes uphill. One of my favorite hikes is up Montara Mountain in Pacifica. And, while you can access the hike up this mountain from Hwy 1, I recommend you try the hike starting in San Pedro Valley State Park. While you will have to pay a parking fee ($7?), you will have the advantage of a great starting alternative. Make sure to get a map from the Ranger and keep your valuables hidden in the parking lot!

This is a gem of a shopping Centre so near to SFO and so accessible. without need to explain in detail what you find in shopping Centres, it got every thing you need including economy buys.
Have fun shopping in suburbia and don t expect too high end stuff unlike Westfield down town
