Woksabi Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar

I ate here by myself two months ago and I was very happy when I left. I always get a spicy roll, usually crab and shrimp topped with tobiko and tuna. It was excellent. I also get the miso soup, but they had another miso soup that caught my eye...hot with mushrooms. Never seen that before. Wish I would have gotten three of them. The service and staff were friendly and polite. You can't go wrong here.

With the outstanding Fuji Restaurant right down the street, one might wonder whether there is room for another upscale sushi restaurant in downtown Haddonfield. The answer is an unqualified "yes."Megu Sushi's new location on Kings Highway offers Megu quality in an upscale, intimate setting. The smallish space has been renovated in a tastefully contemporary style, yet menu options and pricing remain consistent with Megu's other South Jersey locations. As at other Megu locations, the food is excellent. The Tuna Pizza appetizer alone is worth a visit, but every piece of sushi that followed was excellent, and the Lobster Rock 'N Roll is among the best rolls we've ever had. The presentation was attractive as well, and while Megu may not be the cheapest around, it is affordable and a great value given the quality. My only mild criticism would regard the challenge of placing our order with a server who is not fully fluent in English. I find this frustrating, and appreciate restaurants that ensure their servers are able to communicate well with their patrons. In fairness, our order was prepared and delivered exactly as requested, so we were obviously understood. I would nevertheless prefer not to have to wonder whether my words have been understood . . .I began this review by referring to nearby Fuji, and a direct comparison may be helpful. Fuji offers the more traditional sushi experience both in terms of food preparation and atmosphere. Fuji is quiet, classy, and provides a first-rate meal with first-rate service. Their attention to detail is readily apparent, and they are priced accordingly. But Megu Sushi offers outstanding quality and more dining options at a more affordable price point and in a more relaxed setting. This is why I believe the two can easily coexist in Haddonfield; each has its strengths, and neither has significant weaknesses. For an additional comparison, I will say that our favorite sushi restaurant in the area remains nearby Mikado in Cherry Hill. With pricing similar to Megu's, Mikado has the advantage of a much larger sushi menu, a superb wait staff, and a very unique and attractive decor. I would also give the edge in quality to Mikado, but only by a slight margin. In summary, Megu is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in downtown Haddonfield. With many terrific offerings at a reasonable price, and with an attractive space that works as well for a family outing or business meeting as for a romantic dinner for two, Megu is sure to develop a following. We will certainly be back for more Megu.

We made the trek across the Walt Whitman Bridge to Collingswood to try out this great little spot. When you walked in it almost feels like you’re in somebody’s club basement, but the energy is absolutely fantastic. Our server was wonderful, friendly, funny, and professional. The food was without exception fresh and delicious. I recommend any of the sushi, but don’t miss the Friday oysters or steamed clams. BYOB is an added bonus. This was just a fantastic experience all around

Oriental Pearl Restaurant

Reviewed By WearyTraveler57

When I moved to within walking distance of the Oriental Pearl, my wife warned me: don't eat there. Three times I've ignored her warning and three times I've paid the price. I did it again tonight and it'll be the last time. My orange beef, which is supposed to be fried and crispy, was soggy. It was tasteless. It was greasy. And it was mostly breading with very little beef. The rice was gummy and gloppy. We walk past this place at night a lot and it's always crowded, and the only reason I can imagine that people go there is convenience: they're too lazy to go farther away. That was me tonight, and it'll never be me again. I offered what I didn't eat to my dog and she sniffed at it and walked away. You can't throw a stick in this part of New Jersey without it hitting a Chinese restaurant and it's inconceivable to me that any of those places can be worse than Oriental Pearl. it is, quite simply, the worst Chinese restaurant at which I've ever eaten.

We had an early Mother's Day dinner here and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The sushi was fresh, well prepared and delicious. My steak was slightly overcooked and could have been accompanied with more vegetables, particularly for the price. The soft shell crab and tuna dumpling appetizers were both delicious.Prices are a bit high, even for sushi. Service was attentive.
