Reykjavik bears the distinction of being the world’s northernmost capital, and for many Icelandic visitors it also serves as a gateway to the rugged adventure options beyond. Recharge after outdoor pursuits in one of the many geothermal springs or luxurious indoor spas. We appreciate Reykjavik’s open-minded and energetic culture that includes a hip and internationally recognized music and arts scene, great food and notoriously "enthusiastic" nightlife.

Le Kock

Le kock is a street food restaurant run by 3 professional chefs that got sick of making fish of the day and green oil on plates. Taking a complete U-turn they decided to head for a food direction focused on what chefs eat in their off time. Le KocK focuse

Stopped in to this place just off the main square in downtown Reykjavik. Was pleased to find a place where we could relax and talk (and hear each other). Good service, good drinks, and reasonable prices. Will likely make this a regular stop when I’m in Reykjavik.

At Public House Gastropub, we put an emphasis on serving fun dining along with some quality ambience. We use Icelandic ingredients but we add some “japanese flair” to our dishes as we like to have fun with our food and drinks.

The bad: Cost. Don’t look at the bill. If you were looking for a deal you should be in Vegas, this is Iceland. It’s and Island, far away from anywhere. Things cost money....don’t worry about it.The good: This place has amazing food. There is local beer on tap. You have choices from Cauliflower in Buffalo sauce, to Pork sliders, to Bacon wrapped figs, to Pork Dumplings......don’t believe me.....look at all the other reviews.......do it!

After struggling to find decent veggie food in Reykjavik, I stumbled across BioBorgari when searching via Google. The menu is small but everything is freshly made and the veggie burger was really moist and full of flavour. Get there early as it's quite a little place so you may not get a table as it's popular with the locals and you can't make a reservation. The owner is friendly and responds quickly to online queries. Will definitely pop back if I visit Reykjavik again. Thanks for the feedback, Cat! It was great to have you and that you loved our veggie burger is a plus, since the veggie patties are made from scratch by us!We have a small cosy restaurant but since we serve "fast food", usually the customer flow moves quickly enough for people to seat by the time their food is ready. We also have compostable take-away packaging, which is another popular option for locals as well!Thank you again and we hope to see you in a nearby future on your next visit!Safe travels!

We visited after reading the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor - and it did not disappoint. I had the lobster soup and it was absolutely delicious (photos attached). My husband had the fish and chips, which he also enjoyed.Better still was the fantastic service we received, we were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in and the owner couldn’t do enough for us. If we could have gone back again, we would have - but sadly it was our last day in Iceland. I would definitely recommend. If the owners are reading this - thank you for such a lovely experience.
