At least it was close to the airport

Reviewed By Grandparents3

We arrived at 4 for the 3 o'clock check in. Our room was being cleaned by the person who also attended the front desk and picked up people from the airport. Our room had no bathroom, only a sink. There was one common bathroom/toilet in the hallway (I guess I missed that when I booked). The kitchen area was not clean and the tables all had crumbs on them. There was one room available that had a bathroom but it was an upgrade - we took it.

We had a fantastic short stay at Guesthouse1x 6, thanks to the warm, wonderful welcome we received from Andi and Yuki. Our room was super clean and comfy and we loved the hot pool. We had to leave for the airport really early or we would definitely indulged in the fabulous breakfast. Yuki served us divine chocolates and Andi made me the best cappuccino of our 12 days in Iceland. The personalized welcome, the cool artwork, and the location all made for a special experience, and we can’t recommend Guesthouse 1 x 6 more highly!

Fantastic Accommodation

I had the pleasure of staying here for one night before catching a flight back to London the following morning. I travelled from Fjordur to Keflavik on the bus numbered 55. It stopped about 10 minutes away from the Guest House. I was provided with a key door code a few days before my booking date. My room was small but it gad everything I needed. There was a shared bathroom facility and tea and coffee making facilities in the shared kit hen area. I spent time I the Lounge and it was lovely. I made my reservation directly with the guest house and I was able to grab a free lift from the Owner to the Airport. This accommodation is modern and it represents outstanding value for mk ey. I'd definitely recommend it to travellers.

Good location but hostess can be rude

Reviewed By BozemanCheryl

We booked the room with the private bath. Initially, our room was given to someone else. However, once the mistake was recognized, changes were made and the room was cleaned. The room was very clean and the bed was nice. There is a small refrigerator for your items. No breakfast/food came with this room, thus not a bed and breakfast. It could be called a guest house. The room was big enough for 2 and all our gear we used for a 3 week trip. The owners live on the top floor of this guesthouse. This room was close to the street. Thus, if you are a light sleeper, you may hear the noise. One reason we booked this place was for a ride to the airport. We got a ride from the host to the airport since we had a late morning flight. However, another couple who had an early morning flight had to take a taxi. The location is good if you need to walk to a restaurant. Only a couple blocks from the Rain. The BIG downside is that the hostess/wife is very rude. She acts like you are invading her space. I agree with the opinion that she does not understand the hospitality business. We got yelled at because we were quickly unloading the campervan we used for the trip in her driveway. Parking is across the street. One of the party members who needed the taxi was rudely treated when they wanted to confirm that indeed a taxi was called. Thus, if you need to interact with a proprietor when you stay somewhere, this is not the place.

We stayed here after traveling all night and they were able to accommodate our large party arriving off schedule. We chatted with the host extensively to get information about local activities including many details about the active volcano. A very easy drive from the airport. Absolutely recommend this as THE place to stay in Keflavik.

Friendly owners, good location, but the worst (and dirtiest) place we stayed.

Reviewed By WeDreamOfTravel

Three of us booked this for the night before flying back to the US. We realized right away that this was the worst accommodation of the entire trip. To be fair, when we paid with cash, the owners deducted part of the price, which was very generous of them. The room was large enough for our belongings, and had a sink. Bathrooms were at both ends of the hallway, and our room was close to one of them. After sleeping for 9 nights in delightful guest houses and hotels all along the Ring Road, we had a hard time sleeping with street noise and road construction/painting going on. Unlike every single other place we slept, we did not get the feeling that this hotel was scrubbed clean. Perhaps we are wrong, but it definitely did NOT look, feel, or smell like a thoroughly-clean facility. It looked old, tired, and dingy. Had we known how easy and fast it is to drive from Reykjavik to the airport, we would have returned to the first hotel of the trip, Baldursbra Guesthouse, in Reykjavik. Next time we come to Iceland, we won't stay near the airport. It's not worth it if you have a car.

The storm of February 2022 ?⚡️?

Reviewed By jordbrown96

Our flight was cancelled due to a storm over Reykjavik and Keflavik, and were put up here courtesy of EasyJet. The manager and the staff were all extremely friendly, as well as making us all feel safe and welcome. The manager even drove in 80mph+ winds/snow storm to make sure we were all fed in the evening, despite turning up late! The accommodation is a perfect location by the airport. There’s not too much going on around there except for a few shops and a restaurant, but it is very practical if you want to see the Northern Lights. The rooms were of good size for couples and had all you needed in terms of power, fridge, kettle, WiFi and a TV. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a practical place to stay near to the airport with staff that make you feel at home! P.S. Hope you get over to see Liverpool soon! ???
